Greek food? I don't think so. They can't get the one basic Greek dish right, gyros. Why a Greek restaurant is serving dried up food service gyro slices is beyond me. The gyro wrap lunch special was horrible. I would expect gyro meat sliced from a proper roll on a rotisserie from a proper Greek restaurant, which this is not.
The lemon rice soup was disgusting. Some form of yellowish rice slop with the consistency of gruel. We didn't order the Mousaka and/or any other Greek food there because in my opinion, if you can't get the simple stuff right, I'm not wasting more money on the more challenging fare.
The server was pleasant enough but brought out one of three soups and then came back about 8 minutes later and apologized for not bringing all the soups out at the same time. By the time the rest of us got our soups, the entrees were arriving at the table so, no ZOOP for you!
The cowboy burger was ok, they are a decent burger joint. The cabbage soup was just ok, nothing special. I ordered the Swedish meatballs lunch special and substituted mashed potatoes for the noodles. The potatoes seemed real to me, not instant. The gravy was standard GFS brown gravy with mushrooms, not swedish gravy which is made with heavy cream and has no mushrooms. My substitution threw the cook for a loop because it came out in a bowl, not a dish like it should have. Made it hard to cut the meatballs in half with a fork edge like on a flat dish. Very strange choice in dinnerware. They should change the name from Dimitri's Opa to Dimitri's Burger Bar. That would be more appropriate.
The decor is modern and clean and they appear to have a full bar. Prices are relatively high for what you get. I believe the burger was like $12. I know it's inflation but, at what point do you say I can't afford to pay $12 for a $3 burger. The meat on the burger was probably the $1.99/lb special at Meijer's across the street that morning.
The kitchen staff is either raw or has no clue. The waitress should never have served the sloppy soup, dried up, overcooked so-called gyros and Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes in a bowl. Oh and I almost forget. The lemonade my daughter ordered was pink and so sugary, it was almost undrinkable. what does it cost to squeeze some lemons????
Overall, very unpleasant lunch experience for $46 for 3 people with tip. Will not return and...

Read moreOrdered Breakfast at 7 a.m. when they opened twice in the last week, not impressed.
I like to put ranch on my hashbrowns, the first visit the hashbrowns were so undercooked when i mixed the ranch up in them it was basically mashed potatoes after that, sausages seem like a lower brand quality, or just not cooked enough as well.
Second time i went I made SURE to tell them on the phone make the hashbrowns extra crispy please, and a side of ranch as well, she said okay to both, the top layer of the hashbrowns were slightly brown but no where near crispy, and i fought to eat half of them before giving up, oh and the kicker - they forgot my ranch... eggs taste bland, and i ordered my girlfriend french toast, she only had 4/6 of them, didn't like them nearly as much as nearby restaurants.
2/5 stars, good portions, just somewhat bad quality, could be the cook but... if you can wait until 8am for jillians coney island to open across the street I would suggest them, they tell you your order will be ready in 5 minutes, and tasty food new place, Dimitris will tell you...
