I ordered a holiday drink, the dark chocolate mocha. I had asked a question about a couple drinks, but ended up getting the dark chocolate mocha. I asked if the cayenne listed in it made it spicy and she said no it has spices but isn’t spicy. She misheard what I asked for and I received the wrong drink. I could understand how she may have misunderstood as I asked a question about another drink. My boyfriend received the right one though, we ordered the same thing. I asked for it to be remade and I received the one I ordered. My boyfriend’s drink was good and mine was extremely spicy and burned our throats when we tried it. We both tried both drinks but they tasted very different. We went to the cashier to ask for a new one without the cayenne and she said we knew what we were ordering and belittled us by saying it was a spiced drink so we should know. I mentioned my boyfriends drink didn’t burn our throats. She said whatever and proceeded to ring us up for another and tried charging us again. I told her that I asked about the spice because a latte shouldn’t burn ur throat, I suppose the cayenne was meant to bring out the other flavors, not take over. She said that when she said that it wasn’t spicy she was talking about the other drink so it was a misunderstanding but she took offense to it. I don’t think she heard me ask if the cayenne pepper made it spicy. When we refused to pay for another drink to replace a drink we had barely taken a couple sips from because it was not good to be consumed. She didn’t apologize or assume any responsibility for what happened. She told us we had to buy a new one. The other woman there ended up remaking a new one. We still got no apologies and we weren’t difficult, we just wanted the thing we paid for. When I originally gave her cash tip she didn’t say thank you or anything. She gave us rude looks while we waited. I am extremely disappointed as I have never got bad service here. I never received an apology from either of the two women working. This young lady should not be working a service job she acts very entitled. She was white with dark hair and wore glasses. My boss would write me up if I did that, but nothing was done. People are paying for your product and sometimes drinks need to be remade to make the customer happy, I have to deal with things being sent back where I work, but in the end of the day I do what I need to get the customer in and out happy. If the customer doesn’t like the product, you remake it so they can enjoy it or you give them their money back. How would you feel if you went somewhere and paid $6 for a drink to enjoy and it wasn’t even drinkable and the cashier tried making you pay for a new one? Acts of bitterness like this make your day a little worse and you want people to leave your establishment feeling good. Don’t work in the service industry if you’re only going to spread your discontent onto other people trying to enjoy their day off. Very disappointed with this...
Read moreMy post-hike explorations led me to Kaldi's Coffee in Chesterfield, Mo., a welcome respite after a day spent amidst nature's beauty. Stepping inside in the mid-afternoon, I was greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere – the staff's friendliness was immediately apparent, and the establishment itself was impeccably clean and professional.
For those seeking an alternative to the ubiquitous Starbucks, Kaldi's offers a compelling option. Ample seating ensures you can find a comfortable spot to unwind, while the menu boasts a diverse selection of coffee drinks and food items that caters to a variety of tastes.
My choice for the afternoon pick-me-up was a mocha, which proved to be a delightful and well-crafted beverage. The breakfast burrito, however, presented a delightful dilemma. While undeniably delicious, its portion size was quite generous. An option for a half-portion would be a welcome addition to the menu, allowing patrons to indulge without overdoing it.
Price-wise, Kaldi's falls in line with current economic realities, yet it did feel slightly on the expensive side for my order – a combination of the mocha, burrito, and bottled water brought the total to over $20.
Despite this, I would definitely recommend Kaldi's Coffee. It's an excellent choice, especially for those venturing into the area's high-quality and trendy shopping scene. The combination of friendly service, a clean and inviting environment, and a menu offering delicious food and beverages makes Kaldi's a worthwhile destination for a...
Read moreWent with my wife and child on Sunday morning. Ordered the avocado toast with no cheese (allergic), and two eggs. The two eggs covered the toast and that, along with the hot sauce, kept me from realizing they put cheese on it anyway. I ate it unknowingly but thankfully had an antihistamine with me.
I took my plate to the front counter and asked to speak to a manager. The woman I spoke to just looked at me and said “what.”. I repeated I’d like to speak to a manager, to which she replied “I am a manager”. A second woman walked over who was apparently also a manager. When I told her what happened, and that I was allergic, she refunded my $14 piece of toast and told me I should make it clear I’m allergic to an ingredient when ordering (though she admitted it was no excuse). I told her about the other “managers” curt demeanor and she proceeded to make excuses for her, adding that she’s a manager in training. Well there’s a lot of training needed if that’s the customer-facing persona of managerial candidates, and the lackluster response to what could have been a very bad situation for those with more severe reactions (like that of our child’s).
Thanks for the $14 refund. We will...
