This location consistently skimps on the portion sizes.
I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon sandwich and it had like a handful of grated cheese lightly melted between two pieces of bread. It looked nothing like the picture you see on their touchscreen.
I ordered a chicken salad sandwich. It had been a while, but the chicken salad was much different than I remember it. It was more liquidy and drippy rather than what you might typically think of for a chicken or tuna salad. The portion also felt off - like there was less chicken salad than I remember having received at other locations. Maybe they changed the recipe - what I remember having was better.
I ordered a ham sandwich, and it was good, but I felt the amount of meat lacking. It was a cheaper version, so I figured, maybe that's normal. A few days later I ordered another one with double meat. I was dissatisfied with the "extra" amount of meat that I paid $2.06 for (almost 30% of the cost of the sandwich) and I took a picture.
I decided today to visit the Clarkson location. I ordered the ham sandwich and asked for double meat. I took a picture to make the comparison. There's definitely more meat in there.
The quality of the food in both places was good, but I am convinced now that the Chesterfield valley location consistently skimps on portion sizes. The ham sandwich (without extra meat) is advertised to have 42g of protein. I was skeptical when I ordered my original ham sandwich that the amount of meat on it amounted to 42g of protein (yes I know the cheese is also a protein source, but it should only be about 8-10g at a generous estimate). I am now convinced (given my comparison between the two locations) that I was not getting what I was paying for.
I will no longer be frequenting the Chesterfield valley location. I don't like being cheated...
Read morePanera is always a fav spot. Food is great and commercially healthy (meaning they have all the right healthy ingredients, but still too much salt, sugar, and/or unhealthy fats). I would give the food 5stars if I could get what I like to eat with no salt added.
A seasonal favorite is autumn squash soup. Like most other restaurants, Panera's soup has a whopping 1100 mg of sodium, so sadly I don't eat this often. Today I had avocado and egg white sandwich for breakfast. Surprisingly good (I generally don't like egg whites).
As for the location - love the recent remodeling which featured several types of seating - hard chairs, soft cushy booths and firm cushion seating. Gone are the two lounge chairs. Kind of miss those.
The Chesterfield Commons restaurant also has location pagers which is really nice. Place your order, get the pager from the cashier and place it in the table and... They bring the food to you! Most Panera locations I go to do not have a feature.
One pain point for me is the parking lot. The lot the building sits on is not well suited for a drive through. Yes I know it is convenient, but it is also inconvenient. Panera is the only food spot in Chesterfield Commons that has a one way parking lot. People are always driving the wrong way, especially upon leaving and the space is just too tight for bidirectional traffic. Not only that but the drive thru line can easily box you in your parking spot during morning and lunch rush hours..
If you go during busy times and you want to dine in, I highly recommend parking next door at Longhorn. You will avoid a lot of frustration. Though I am sure Longhorn won't like...
Read moreI was looking for something quick and healthy to eat, and landed here. It was a Monday afternoon and the place was practically empty. The cashier was semi-friendly, and made me feel hurried to order something. I ordered the Greek Salad, Mediterranean veggie sandwich, and a bag of chips. I was given a pager and told to pick up my order from the window when it buzzed. I went to find a seat, and most of the tables were dirty with food, napkins, leftover plates, or crumbs. I was surprised because there were only a couple of people in there besides me.
When my food was ready, I went to the window to pick up my food. The man behind the window was very friendly and thanked me, but when I went back to ask for a fork, the woman behind the window seemed irritated that I bothered her for a fork.
As for my food, my sandwich was tasty, but my salad had way too much Greek dressing on it. It was overpowering. I also didn’t get the bag of chips I ordered; I received a baguette. I didn’t want to deal with the attitude from the woman in the window again, so I just ate the baguette.
If I lived in the area, I might’ve given this location a second...
