Read moreI just had dinner from Ninja. How much i disapponted about them. 1st: i have been eat at Ninja for 2 years. 2nd: i always tell the people, my clients i know that they should try Ninja. That’s good. 3rd: we always celebrated birthday party over there at least once/ every 2 months. And group from 10-14 people. 4th: i also order the food over there to support them for at home party(for 8-10 people) as well… …. But since today : NO MORE. WHY? The server ( girl- supper short hair): she is not nice. I have a todler one but she is just ignore, do not offer the high chair.. So i had to find & took it by myself= but that’s ok. I did not mind. After 50 mins sat n wait for food, she was not even came to my table to tell me anything about the food run late or they were busy…. I just saw her walked by so i need to ask her how long should i wait?? She told me she’ll check. She came back with plate of ramen noodle. Look messy, the noodle hanging out the plate …look like pig’s food. And second time come back with ramen noodle. So it’s been 1 hour for the food to come n the server’s attitude. Me n my mom decided to take them home because we are so tired n losing appetite. I just do not see her around so when i see her from distant, i just used body languge to let she know we need to pay n to go boxes. She came over n asked if i want to pay n to go the food. I said “yes” n tell her i need boxes for ramen noodle n hibachi lomein…. GUESS= she came back with only one box?? For 2 plates??? Does she really want to do her job?? Or what did i do ?? She pissed me off. But i did not complaining yet…. Huh! And i had to asked: “ do you think i will put them all together in the box ?” She said : “ YES”. OMG!!!! One is stir fry noodle, one is soup noodle… how can to go in one box??? She is waitress she should know better. I asked for one more box for the soup only please. Guess what?? Do you know the box to-go for chicken wings. Yes she bring it to me. I looked at her: i said how can i to go the soup with this box? I need container with the lid. SHE ROLLING HER EYES to me n walked away. I just so tired to be with her… so i decide to come close to the kitchen n wait… she hang it to me n walked away n ROLLING EYES AGAIN. I still gave she 20% tip but not because she deserve it. Just because that how i am. If that waitress girl can read this. I hope you still remember me. Shame on you. You have make the place losing some of royalty...
Food was okay, but definitely not worth the price. I ordered the combo hibachi with red snapper and chicken which is almost $30. They literally gave me half of filet (it was cooked as a whole piece, but plated only half a piece, and maybe, maybe a 1/2 cup of diced chicken (and that may be a generous estimate). We went as a large group and we noticed that despite having more adults and hibachi orders on one side, both of the chefs came out with the same amount of food. There was literally double the amount of adults and hibachi orders for one side of the table, but instead of bringing out enough food to match the orders, they brought out the same amount for both sides and our side of the table received very skimpy portions, as he was trying to stretch everything out. I feel like you should get the same amount of food whether you order alone or as a group of 10+; they shouldn’t bring out the same amount of food for 3 adults as they do for 8, resulting in some people getting nice portion sizes, while the others are getting rationed portions; especially since we all paid full price for our meals. To be more consistent they need to determine a portion size for each hibachi; e.g. everyone gets 6 oz of meat, 1 cup rice, 1 cup noodles, etc. that way no matter your party size, everyone gets the same amount of food (give or take). Instead, this was more like they prepare a standard size for each grill and stretch the food accordingly. It was like being at a party where one table has 8 people and the other has three and they bring out the same size cake for each table. Your group only getting small pieces while you watch the other table get extra large portions, but the downside is you all had to pay the same price. So if you do go here, be careful going with a large party, especially if you are spread across two grills and the hibachi orders aren’t equal...
Read moreWe didn't have a bad time here, and the food was fine. But there was room for improvement. First, the positives: The restaurant was very polite about taking reservations for us by phone, and we were seated promptly when we arrived. The chef was entertaining and tailored his presentation a bit for our two small children. That said, I've seen other Hibachi chefs do a lot more flair and showmanship. A few downsides: First, when the chef arrived he checked the cooking surface in front of us and apparently it had not been turned on. Without saying anything he wheeled his cart away, and a few minutes later returned to serve the other side of our "pod" (who were all seated after us). I get it, and we weren't in a hurry or anything, but someone at least could have offered a quick apology and explanation. Second, this is one of those restaurants where the clientele have a big impact on your experience, and there was a lot of what I will endearingly call "Chesterfield hoosier" here. There were several adults apparently celebrating their birthdays, so there was a lot of yelling and hollering. We're talking women in their 40s and 50s wearing crowns and screaming "Let's hear it for my sister!" as if they were 20-somethings at a bachelorette party. Yes, I realize it's not designed to be a quiet candlelit restaurant (that's not what we wanted); it's Hibachi, and that comes with a certain amount of noise. But when you are surrounded by middle-aged adults screaming at the top of their lungs and acting like people half their age, it realy does detract from the experience.
Bottom line: our kids had fun, and that's the important thing, but we probably...
