We decided to celebrate Father's Day early since me and my husband and I are both working doubles at our job this weekend. We went to have a nice family dinner at Chili's. We hadn't been to this location in a while. Usually, we go to laramie. We walked through the doors and were greeted by a young man who was the hostess. He grabbed our menus and said this way, then quickly looked back at the computer on where to take us. We got seated and were not quite sure what we wanted to order, so we got our drinks and chips and salsa. We were looking forward to a smokehouse combo with brisket only to discover that they don't have that anymore . I chose a brisket burger, which was a brisket burger that had barbecue sauce , cheese , pickles ,and slaw and, of course, came with fries. My husband got the margarita chicken. My kids got their meals fast, which was nice. Ours came out shortly after my burger smelt good . I was a little sad there was only a small amount of brisket on top of my burger patty. There was no coslaw. I asked the server, and she went and got some. My husband chicken was dry and flavorless. Our server never asked us if we wanted another margarita. She came to refill our water. My 2 kids enjoyed their kids' meal , I couldn't eat the rest of my burger and I sat it down my husband made a face at me and I said what's wrong he said your burger is still really pink on that side of the patty I looked at it and it was very pink/ raw. The service was okay , a booth in front of us had an older couple, and we watched an employee go over to their table and start shoving food in her mouth from their plates. Then she sat stood by their booth and talked to them for a little bit while still shoveling food in her mouth. Im sure she knew them, but it was a lot to watch, and unfortunately, it's not like I could look away as it was right in front of me. I think we will continue to go to laramie...
Read moreDecided not to cook today and went to Chilis. It's Friday, long week at work, so why not! We order the skillet queso Blanco and chips to start. This waitress brings our drinks...and about a minute later brings our chips and queso Blanco. The cheese is in a soup bowl, and the cheese is frozen cold. 😡so then I let her know that the cheese is usually is in a skillet, hot, with toasted cheese on top, and then they sprinkle cilantro and some pico. This cow then tells me that they are out of skillets. The restaurant is more empty then full! So then she grabs the bowl of cheese comes back, and the Heffer micro-waved the bowl of cheese😡 NEVER AGAIN!!
So, I paid the check, as I was leaving, I grabbed the soup bowl of cheese and tried to speak to a so called "manager" and here comes a 5 foot 100lb boy. I started to speak to this "manager" and the cheese topic drove this manager insane apparently, through a fit like a 5 yr old, became irrate and argumentive with me, mind you I'm a customer who paid 10.00 for a bowl of white cold cheese (which my bill was 65.00), ripped the bowl out of my hands and then proceeded to tell me the bowl was really hot🫣 so I knew then there is no reasoning obviously with this drama queen. I just wanted to ask if that was the new way of making the "skillet white queso" so next time I know not to order it. All that was left was for this manager to throw himself on the floor and pull his hairs out of his head. Unfortunately, there was no resolution, I didn't want a discount, or was looking for a free meal. I was just a regular customer who have been going to chilis for years and never had this happen. Next time I know to stay...
Read moreOk, so here I go: I took an Uber here, planning on having more than the legal (driving) limit of alcohol (my first mistake); next, I waited at the front, ostensibly "to be seated" but after a few minutes it was obvious I can just help myself (kidding-but helped myself anyway and sat at the bar). Next, the bar tender seemed nice, but distracted, and wait for it,.....sick. Next up, I ordered the surf and turf, got the turf, but the surf was missing; then, when the shrimp arrived it looked like the smallest shrimp they could find (one of them still had its spine). So, when the turf arrived, it was rare (i ordeted medium rare) on one side, with plenty of fat and grissel (ok, now I get the feeling of being fleased); I showed the bar tender, on one of his rare appearances, the steak, and he said it looked OK to him (moving on); I think the bar tender has like 3 jobs. He kept disappearing to the kitchen. Not sure why since the were a number of dirty glasses (that never got washed during my 90 minute visit) at the bar. There is a lot of room for improvement, IMO, all it would be the right manager. Food: asparagus good, white cheddar Mac better, steak and shrimp just "ok." One last mention: family friendly with plenty of small crying children to listen to (many options available). Lots of staff, but did not see a proportional amount of customers. I think I'll go back to Texas roadhouse next...
