First, let me start off by saying that the 4 hour food coma I just came out is fully blamed on this establishment!
My husband and I move a lot for our jobs, so we’re fairly new to the Cheyenne area. Since we’re a couple of gluttons one of the first things we do when we get anywhere new, is find out where the greatest burgers are from the locals. Since Cheyenne has some of the friendliest residents in the entire world, of course they’re going to give me the greatest spot to find Wyoming yumminess.
We had a list of three. None of which disappointed, but only one that warranted an immediate oh goodness, we found our spot!
When my coworkers told me about Pour Decisions, I’ll be honest, I was a little judgey and raised an eyebrow at a bar having the best burger. This is not a bar. This is an entire atmosphere. From the moment we walked in we were seated by a gentleman who was either a manager or the owner. (Really awesome hair!) he asked if it was our first time, and since it was he took the time to explain how everything works and where their menu was sourced. This was not in the typical robot “I have to say this” voice. No, this was genuine pride in a menu. It made us both feel truly welcomed, which was an even added bonus.
Even though we came for burgers, the minute he said the Philly was their most popular item both of our eyes light up. We’ve lived in so many different places and no matter what we’re always disappointed by Phillys.
So in our typical weird fashion, we ordered an appetizer and two entrees. We always split half of each others entrees. The kickin’ curds? I’m from the Midwest, I’m picky about my curds. Honestly better than most I’ve had from home. Hands down. I’m not a prideful Midwesterner…. I’ll admit when someone does something better. Both the regular ranch and the fire ranch are… well… fire.
Now down to the meat and potatoes (literally in this case) house pressed fries were the best my husband has ever had. They cracked pepper on them..ughh it’s perfect. I’m not a French fry eater. I ate some. (Had to sneak them away in fear of him accidentally eating my hand, but none the less, perfect French fries)
The Mac and cheese with bacon and jalapeños (I apologize if I butchered the name) was the perfect spice level. The one where it’s pretty daring for spice wimps like myself, but also not too mild for my husband who prefers flames coming from his spice.
We ordered the bacon cheeseburger and the Philly. The Philly was a solid 10. There is not a single bad thing to say about it. The veggies were properly cooked, the meat was flavorful and not dry like most. And the cheese level was just right.
The burger easily won out of our endeavor. I can’t even begin to describe it. I don’t have the proper words. Just try it and you’ll understand.
I can’t remember our servers name(I’m sooo sorry!), but she was absolutely wonderful. Hands down one of the best I’ve ever had. Between her and the other staff stopping by to check on us (and not in the annoying required way like most places) including the bartender! And we didn’t even order drinks! (Love your hoodie by the way) we really felt taken care of.
So thank you to all of you. You have some new regulars and we can’t wait to try the rest...
Read moreWent here with my family for dinner. 2 small kids and wife and I. First impressions from the outside, looks like a bar. Windows are blacked out, logos on the outside, screams bar. In fact, I even went in first to check to see if kids were allowed..lol. Turns out, yes! Pretty sure the owner personally sat us at our table and was very friendly. Wait staff was great and kept our drinks topped off and was very attentive. Wife and I both ordered the Philly cheese steak, mine came with aujus. They were delicious! Kids had standard kid food. We all got the fries which were delicious but definitely on the salty side of things. Had we been drinking (we don't drink alcohol) the fries would've been delicious I'm sure with a Pint or 2 or 5..lol.. We all got our free scoop of ice cream afterwards which was nice, kiddos really like that. All in all, food pricing was fair to average, staff was great and food was delicious. Definitely will be back!
Now for the dislike, which isn't a bunch and wouldn't stop me from going back but still a dislike. Ambiance I give 2 out of 5 stars. Bathroom doors open directly to a table, in fact the table we were seated at. Don't like that. Awkward for both the people using the table and the people using the bathroom.. Needs a wall built to seperate that area from the dining area imo. The lighting was harsh, way too bright for a bar or a restaurant. It's like it's a confused sports bar/restaurant/bar. I understand they are trying to check all the boxes but sometimes that just doesn't work out. Few less tables, maybe a few more high top 2 person tables near the bar and some sort of division between the bar and the actual dining room and most certainly some division between the bathrooms and the dining room. Some softer lighting and some better ambiance and this place could be an absolute stellar spot for a bite to eat. Sometimes you have to sacrifice the amount of people you're willing to stuff into an area to get the ambiance that creates a excellent place to eat, hang out with family, or just grab a few beers after work.
All in, I give it 4 out 5 stars. It's new, it has room to grow, the menu was good, the food was good, the staff was great, just need to sort out the details. Definitely will be...
Read moreI don't want to write a review of this establishment because if I tell you how good it is, it will become crowded, and I won't be able to get a table. However, the cat is out of the bag, locally anyway, about the food quality and service at Pour Decisions. The menu and food combinations are basic and not experimental, but what it lacks in inventiveness makes up for in quality. However, I have never seen Barramundi on a menu in Wyoming, but it is on the menu at Pour Decisions. I would be curious to find out the story on that intriguing menu selection.
This restaurant makes its salad dressing, shapes its burgers patties, cuts its fries, and breads the onion rings it serves. I think they stop short of baking the buns for the burgers and bread for the sandwiches. I have eaten there three times in the last thirty days, and every time the food has been fresh and generously portioned. Service is excellent, especially when other establishments are short-staffed and their servers are unexcited to work. The servers at Pour Decisions are friendly, efficient, and don't let your glass get too low. It is clear that the owner/manager profoundly cares about the food served and the customer's experience.
Pour Decisions is NOT a fast food restaurant, is often busy and sometimes requires a wait to be seated. You can sit at the bar or a table, and three large televisions provide patrons with the latest sports-ball games. Full bar service is available with beers on tap including Wyoming beers., Every meal comes with a free scoop of ice cream! Honestly, they won me over with...
