The hostess was very frazzled and visibly upset when we arrived. She found us an open table after frantically running around to find an open seat. We would have never known otherwise because we only waited less than 5 minutes. It took our server (Taylor) a bit to get to us, but once she did, she took great care of us! She never hesitated to fill drinks or ask how things were going. She chatted with us in her down time and was very friendly. I ordered the Noodles. There flavor was a bit overwhelming. The sauce seems like someone had dumped a ton of soy sauce all over the plate. My husband ordered the bacon burger with regular fries. The ranch he requested was some of the BEST we've ever had! He loved the flavor of the seasoned fries and the burger was cooked perfect. We ordered the spicy tomato bisque and grilled cheese that didn't make it out until after our entrees were at the table.tl That didn't bug us one bit, the flavor of the bisque was more than we ever expected. I've had authentic french tomato bisque and this made the traditional bisque seem bland in comparison. The grill cheese was perfectly grilled and cheese was melted immaculately. We ordered the s'mores desert that was very good. The chocolate ice cream was very rich and full of flavor. The marshmallow however seemed as though it came from a jar. It tasted of stale confectionery sugar. I should have gone for the peach cobbler. When it came time to pay we found it difficult as we never keep cash or cards on us. I tried to pay using Google pay, but they didn't accept any kind of digital payment. We figured it out, but it was inconvenient. We were given a 10% off coupon to Provisions next door. Unfortunately we are in recovery, we can gift it though. Taylor was great! Give her a raise 😄 Over all we had a great experience and would highly recommend this dining experience to all of your friends!

The atmosphere is nice, the menu is upscale, the food *looked* great, and you may even run into the Mayor. That's where the frills ended on opening night though... My wife and I arrived at 7:05 for a 7:15 reservation. 20 minutes later, we were seated at a table near the door that was open when we first walked in. Our waitress was prompt to take our orders, but drinks (bottled beer) took 15 minutes to show up, and the appetizer was another 20 minutes after. At 8:45, I finally decided we'd waited long enough, and that if the food wasn't going to be ready by 9:00, then we'd pay for our drinks and appetizer, but would cancel the rest of our order. A manager came to the table and apologized profusely for the wait, and I told her that I understood that it was opening night, and I'm sure the kitchen was probably ironing out a few wrinkles. She said that she would check the kitchen again, and asked that we give our food 5 more minutes. Lo and behold, our food arrived. The Met burger looked decent and the filet was tender enough to cut with a butter knife, but the food was barely above room temperature. That was the last straw. Bottom line: This may be the next hot place for an upscale meal in Cheyenne, but until the excruciatingly slow service and lukewarm food are improved, I'm going to pass for at least a month or two. Will edit this review after they've had some time to adjust to their dinner crowd.

I came to the Met today cause I just couldn’t shake a craving for their tomato bisque with crunchy toasted ciabatta on the side. The memory of that beautiful grilled ciabatta wouldn’t let me drive home. So I came. And here is what I got (along with some deviled eggs, which are nice - just tangy enough, and the fresh arugula garnish is a tasty detail)! Observe the bread: not ciabatta. CLEARLY not ciabatta, despite the menu description and my disappointed memory of my last time eating this dish here. When I asked my very nice waitress if they had any ciabatta back in the kitchen that I could have, she told me that “That IS the ciabatta. Our house-made ciabatta.” So…. Okay, let’s talk about bread for a minute. This may have been a not-bad, soft, sweet, house-made white bread that was sliced thick and grilled with cheese on a flat top. But what it ISN’T is anything like ciabatta: a strong, crusty, flattened loaf with lots of large air holes in it. Ciabatta is not sweet, and it is not soft. I guess what I’m saying is: if you’re going to use regular white bread for your grilled cheese and tomato soup, then please just say so. And if you’re going to advertise ciabatta on your menu, then please get actual, real ciabatta. Or learn how to make it.

Update April 2024. I'm pleased to say the Metropolitan improved a lot in the past four years. We were seated promptly, and our server was very nice. We ordered appetizers, and they were delivered quickly. The Calamari was good and the Brussels Sprouts were delicious. A bottle of wine was delivered and we waited for our dinners. They came in an appropriate amount of time but then the problems started. Two steaks were ordered and they were both underdone. Both of those eating steak asked for A1 sauce and Worchestershire sauce. That was never delivered. The Mediterranean pasta was really good. One of our group asked for a bar drink but that seemed to get lost. Our server was asked and kindly went and checked on it. When he came back with the drink he said in a snarky tone, "I found out what happened to it. It's called being busy." How clever! Earlier in the meal our server explained they had several big parties. As usual my response is, how is that my fault? Why should I accept food undercooked or drinks lost in transit? This is the restaurant's fault. If they lack staff then don't accept more customers. Certainly explain up front that service will be slow so I have the option of going elsewhere. I'm perfectly willing to understand the kitchen can only prepare food so fast. Most of our issues were with the wait staff. Dessert was never offered.

There's room for improvement but I still recommend it. Just don't go if you think it's a "called busy" night.

Disappointing. It has a great look and the bar is cool but the dining room is dark and noisy. The server was too famliar and he seemed to expect a conversation with us. There is an odd smell as you enter the restaurant. Food gives style over substance. Besides, what good is a pretty artichoke dip if you can't see it. We had reservations. Were taken to a table still being cleaned. We had to wait a long time for water and the server told us they ran out of water. Okay. He reminded us to save room for dessert and then brought the check before we had a chance to order. The Euro pop music needs to go. The odd smell needs to go too. Not sure if that's from the kitchen or what. We'll hit the bar again. Doubt I'll eat...

I made reservations and the process which I started online looked easy enough but it seemed to be glitchy. I will chalk that up to the lack of having internet service since I’m just visiting. So, I wound up calling instead. What I didn’t like was being blocked into specific times, their specific times. I wanted a reservation at 6pm. The online service wouldn’t allow you to choose 6pm. There were only specific block times. Even when I called and asked for 6, they came back with 6:15, which was one of the specific times. I went ahead and took the 6:15 time. My party showed up and well I really didn’t need to make a reservation because there were plenty of places to be seated. Even after checking in with the hostess they seemed lost. We were initially lead to an area and then she realized someone was sitting at the table she was taking us to, she turned and said it looks like a mix up. She went back to the hostess station to figure it out. We were then seated at an empty table right next to the hostess station. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip for a appetizer. When it came out we all, there were three of us, looked at the dish. I made the comment, ah, it’s one of those places. The place that price their plates high and put a tiny amount on it but add drizzles or garnish to make it look high class presentable. It was good and a little different. There was a high taste of lime in the dip. We all ordered the Met Filet. Again, presentation when it was brought out. Of the three, two were ordered medium rare and the other medium. One had to be returned because it was over cooked. The steak did taste really good though. Overall, this place is way over priced. Since I have family here, in any future visits here, I won’t go back due to the prices compared to the amount of food. I can get a good steak for much cheaper and I don’t like being told exactly when I can have a reservation. Reservations should be my...
