Wow wow wow... I'm truly amazed. Words can not even describe the experience I just had. It was recently glizzy Wednesday in Chi town, and it being such I decided I'd treat myself to a sumptuous meat log. That's when "it" happened, I tasted the most delicious weiner dog I've ever had in my life. I now classify my years as BG and AG (Before Glizzy & After Glizzy). Words don't do justice the weiner I had in my mouth from American dog and burger. HOWEVER... Although this was without a shadow of a doubt the most pallete enriching supplement I've ever consumed, I want to talk customer service Fo' real. The human Bean, "Matthew" by name tag "Thompson" he claimed his surname was. I mean truly spectacular customer service, it's always nice when abroad to hear another glimmer of Irish in the voice of another male and that's what I heard from young Matthew ("Bean"). He charmed me and fellow other customers with his witty type banter and good looks. He has the candour of a man who has previously worked in a supermarket type of environment but the sense of a man who has been hardened through life by failing to secure 3rd level education jobs say in an office or such but also the hustle and bustle of a man who grew up tough in the streets of a non gated community in a suburb of a large city. Moving on I was so impressed by the customer service this young gentleman provided and I formally demand that he be made managing director of the fine dining establishment that is American...

Unpleasant first experience at this establishment, and I say this respectfully. I ordered the bacon burger, cheese fries and a strawberry shake. I was told minutes later by one of the employees, "we can't make the strawberry shake, we only have vanilla." My response was "okay, then I won't have a shake." And he said "okay." So while waiting for my order, I ordered from a smoothie bar directly across from this AD&B and get a Piña Colada smoothie. A few minutes later, my food is ready and I see the strawberry shake appear like a strawberry Houdini, magically next to my food. I tell the employee that he had already told me strawberry was unavailable so I got a smoothie instead from the place next door and will need a refund. He said the manager wasn't in, therefore he can't refund because he doesn't know how. I ask the other employee, he says he doesn't know how to refund either. I kindly ask if they can call the manager. They look at each other and shrug their shoulders. I found it a bit unprofessional and very inconvenient that neither employee knew how to work the register to give a refund, and I wasn't informed that they actually did find a way to make the strawberry shake afterall. It would've been very appreciated if he communicated this information when he found out he could make it. It would've saved me a few extra dollars, which in the grand scheme of things isn't much--- But it would've...

I visited America's Dogs and Burgers in Chicago with high hopes, but unfortunately, my experience was just average. I opted to try the veggie Chicago Dogg, which sounded promising on the menu, but ultimately fell short of my expectations.

The atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant, with a cozy and casual vibe that's perfect for a quick bite to eat. The service was also friendly and attentive, with staff members who were happy to answer questions and provide recommendations.

However, the food itself was a bit of a letdown. The veggie Chicago Dogg lacked the bold flavors and creativity that I was hoping for, and I found it to be a bit underwhelming compared to other veggie hot dogs I've tried in the past. The flavors were decent, but nothing particularly stood out or left a lasting impression.

Overall, America's Dogs and Burgers is a decent option if you're in the area and looking for a quick, casual meal. However, I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to visit again. If you're a fan of hot dogs or burgers, you might find something to like here, but I didn't find anything particularly memorable about...

I hate leaving bad reviews but this was BAD.... We ordered at the kiosk, both my SIL and I choosing bacon cheeseburgers, no bun, her: cheddar cheese, mustard and pickles; me: swiss cheese, mustard and tomatoes. One of the guys behind the counter asked if we made a mistake with the no buns, I confirmed that we did not and he accepted that. When we were called for our food it was HOT, smelled good (bacon!) and looked good. My SIL took her first bite and made a strange face, took her second bite and that was it. She swears the burger was sour. I took my first few bites and noticed a sour note but mine tasted like it was the cheese that was sour. Honestly, they were just very disappointing burgers. Small, watery and not cooked with that burger char. I wonder if the buns mask the flavor...

I honestly have no idea why this hotdog stand gets way higher ratings than the McDonald’s across the aisle. Even though I’m not a local, I can confidently say this hotdog is absolute trash. The buns were cold and limp, clearly never toasted; the pickles were so sour they made me wince — maybe that’s a local thing, but I just can’t get behind it. Same goes for the fiery peppers piled on top. The only redeeming part was the bacon and a tiny cart of apple juice, which cost me an extra $3.99 to add. The place was ridiculously crowded — on a Saturday evening, you’re lucky if you can find a seat. If you’re not as lazy and tired as I was, do yourself a favor: skip the pier area and hunt down some real food. Otherwise, you might as well just stick with McDonald’s.

The atmosphere was alright. It was a food court type area, good lighting, warm, and clean. The service was seriously lacking. 3 young/teen boys were preparing the food, or should have been. They were more worried about a girl sitting in the food court. The Chicago dogs we ordered were lacking. It was like someone who ate one once decided they could do that. There was little flavor. The bread was soggy and falling apart because of the juices from the relish. The hotdog was hardly even warm. The plus side, we were hungry and this ended that. It was almost $15 for these to dogs. You walk up to the counter and are instructed to place your order on a kiosk, and you self pay.
