Love this place! We always went to Giordano's growing up- which I am also a fan of. I don't love the corn crusts at Lou Malnati's (Uno's is better than LM). More of a Gino's/ Giordano's type deep dish fan. I like Pequod's too, but wish their cheese to crust ratio was better. Ricobene's is good too, but I only ever want to get a King steak from them because it's the best sandwich in the world. Bacino's is my new favorite deep dish. I hadn't had their pizza until my brother ordered it when visiting last year- and he tried it once- like 20 years ago at the Taste. His 5 year old son loved it too!! I wish I knew about them sooner & will def keep ordering from them. I usually always get a deep dish pie- it's amazing. The thin crust I tried once and was also very good-similar to Giordano's thin crust. I would not recommend the extra thin for delivery. I also am not an ultra thin fan, unless I'm making it at home and eating it immediately. It's really the sauce- I love the saltiness, acidity and the fact that it is not sweet. I've also never gotten a soggy crust on a deep dish pie from here- which is one of the biggest disappointments in getting a stuffed pizza.

We first heard about Bacino’s from a young man from Chicago who was teaching English in Taipei, our hometown. When he found out we were planning a trip to Chicago, he insisted that we had to try Bacino’s pizza. So here we are. We were blown away by the stuffed pizza. We tried the Spinach Supreme and Bacino’s Special—both were generously portioned and absolutely delicious. We had the pleasure of chatting with John, the gentleman who served us, who turned out to be the owner. He was very hospitable and welcoming. John gave us great recommendations and made sure we had everything we needed. To our surprise, just before we left, he gifted us two Bacino’s T-shirts as souvenirs. It’s easy to find a restaurant with nice food in a big city like Chicago, but it’s not easy to find one with such a human touch like Bacino’s. We definitely plan to come back to Chicago—for the tasty pizza and for John.

There's a reason why Bacino's is a fav among Chicago's top chefs. Their deep-dish pizza is Chicago's best. The crust is buttery, light and crispy. The sauce is chunky, succulent and generous in quantity. And the classic spinach/spinach and mushroom pie is *filled* with fresh greens. Salads and apps are tasty, too. And there's always a nice selection of craft beers on tap, with flights available. The dining room and bathrooms are a bit too "blast-from-the-past," but the booths are huge and comfy, and given the food, it's well worth overlooking the decor.

Service was pretty poor (our server was Erica according to our check, a blond lady)

But everything else was phenomenal. Especially the food.

Here is a little breakdown. We came to this place as our first time ever in Chicago. We read on the reviews that they had a really good deep dish so we wanted to try it. The people at the counter/kitchen were very nice, we got a table, and we asked our server for the dip dish, she said they don't have it. Only stuffed pizza, okay we took 3 seconds to see what she mentioned, and she just left the table. The place wasn't really crowded. She did not show any interest on trying to guide us through the options they have, willingness to respond questions etc. Every time she came to bring something to the table she would ask something and leave me speaking alone as I responded. Very poor attitude for customer service.

Besides this. EVERYTHING ELSE was fantastic. The food was delicious, we had the stuffed pizza and was tasteful, very fulfilling, and inexpensive. Calamari fritto were really good as well. The environment is very nice and it's a very welcoming place. The rest of the staff was really nice to us at all times.

I would definitely come back again many times despite the bad experience with the lady but I hope someone reads this and addresses it. Also i get it if she was just having a bad day. But I hope it doesn't...

I was very disappointed by today’s interaction with the manager, Miguel. There is a way to communicate with customers without being rude or lacking empathy to a customers questions/concerns. My family has been going to Bacino’s since before I was born in 1986. Today we were told my the manager that we could not be served unless we scheduled reservations due to COVID. However, there is no signage state such and their website doesn’t say anything of that nature either.

I will say that Frank, our server, was extremely accommodating and gracious. He heard our concerns and tried to assist in the best way possible. Thank you, Frank, for being the reason I even gave two stars.

While on yelp, I noticed that the issue with manager is a pattern. I would encourage the owners to speak with him about customer service. Also, on yelp it was eye opening to see that Bacino’s had many issue with hygiene/cleanliness. I don’t foresee myself going back to Bacino’s in the future as it used to be a nostalgic place for me to frequent. Bacino’s isn’t what it used to be. Also, the pizza was mediocre—this was disheartening for me because I would deal with a Napoleon complex manager to enjoy a good slice of pizza....
