I decided to try Chicago Burger Co despite the mixed reviews, and here's the breakdown:
Location: It's a great spot if you're looking for a riverside experience. The only downside is that customers walk right by your table since there's no fencing. Indoor seating is a no-go, but most people probably come for the outdoor vibe anyway.
Service + Timing: We went on the 4th of July weekend around 2:30 PM after our boat ride. It wasn't crowded, and we got our food within 12 minutes of ordering—not bad at all. Our server was lovely and made sure we were well taken care of, even though it's not a traditional dine-in service style.
Food: We ordered two CBC burgers with fries and drinks. It was a bit pricey but okay. The fries came in a basket, crispy and yummy. As for the burgers, they were a bit greasy, but the meat was well-cooked—nothing raw, unlike some other reviews I'd read. Maybe we got lucky with less traffic and better service.
Overall, we had a great experience. I'd say it's worth...

We got the CBC Chopped salad. The bacon, blue cheese, corn, onions, and tomatoes are a fairly good balance. I think it should have more blue cheese. I recommend getting the dressing on the side.
It is awesome to see two vegetarian options; a veggie burger and a roasted veggie sandwich. You would order at the counter.
I got the roasted vegetable sandwich. It came a medium portabella mushroom cap, sliced roasted cauliflower, slices egg plant, slices of zucchini, bell peppers, cheese and a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. It came with a spear of pickle.
I got water. They gave me a clear cup to get ice and water from a self served soda machine. I carried my #34 to a table outside. They served it within 5 - 7 mins.
They were nice. Food was seasoned but kept the...
Read moreOrdered 2 burgers, 1 hot dog, and 1 sandwich. The gentleman behind the counter ask me if I wanted everything on my CBC smash and I said no. He took my husband's hotdog order, he took my grandmother's CBC smash and asked her the same questions he asked me. She said yes. He took my grandfather's BLT order. We paid. When the food comes, only 1 CBC, with nothing on it. The receipt is not itemized. I went back in side and the gentleman who took our order helped the other person, who was now assisting us, pull up an itemized receipt. Only 1 CBC smash. There are 4 of us, we didn't forgot to order for ourselves. No apologies, nothing. I don't know how he forgot to add a burger he asked questions about, but this whole meal ended up being $100. It was an average meal, with extra steps, and was not worth it...
