ETA Restaurant + Bar — Restaurant in Chicago

Hotel and Room Service are wonderful. However, the service at the restaurant was far from wonderful. It took us 40 min to an hour to get our food, and had to ask the bartender if our food was ready yet. The response was a snotty one. Also, when we got our check, we let the server know we were in a rush and we noticed that he was stocking straws that were already full and it took 20 min to get our cards back. Clearly "in a rush" does not mean anything here. Also, because of this service, I felt a gratuity was unnecessary, but somehow a gratuity was still added to my bill by possibly the server themselves. **UPDATE After being told I would receive a refund from my dinner that night, I never received a refund and the food and beverage manager told me many times that my refund was pending. So after waiting two weeks for a 'pending' refund I had to have my bank dispute the transaction.....and then 3 weeks to a month later, another transaction of the same amount of my dinner came out of my account and had to get that disputed too. If you don't want fraudulent events to happen on your credit card, do not stay here. I will choose to stay at a Super 8...

Wonderful experience at ETA a very intimate feeling restaurant, Service was excellent and very attentive, food was amazing . First time at ETA and all I can say is that I’ll definitely be back. The server started us off with a wonderful recommendation of wine and signature cocktails, be sure to check out their burger of the month. For appetizers my boyfriend and I had the calamari and cheese and meat board which were both excellent and huge portions. For main entrées I had the salmon and my boyfriend had the crispy chicken sandwich with Canadian bacon , along with Brussel sprouts which for sautéed to perfection . All the food with seasoned well and had a great taste. Everything was exceptional not only did we receive a attentive service from our waiter we , received a very attentive service from the manager Usama . All in I say if you’re stay at the hotel or on the area stop in you...

I arrived very tired and very hungry. Apart from appetizers, sides and desserts, the menu (printed in tiny type, very hard to read in a dimly-lit place) offered some pricey entrees, and "Soup Salads Sandwiches." The latter included one soup and three salads, and a burger was the sole representative for the "sandwiches" class.

So I got the burger. It looked good but tasted bad. Almost as if the beef had been freezer burned. An unpleasant, stale taste. I ate it because I was very tired and very hungry, but I didn't enjoy it. The fries were good. The burger bun was good. The service was attentive. But I paid $40 (not counting tip) for a bad burger...
