There many great restaurants in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago. However, many of them can be pompous and arrogant. It is sometimes hard to find a place in this area that has a laid back atmosphere that lacks pretension. One of those places is Enoteca. It is a small restaurant and wine bar with a cozy and friendly atmosphere. First, the food is delicious. I ordered the polpette alla napoletana (meat balls), charred Brussels sprouts and arancini as appetizers, the pappardelle bolognese and spicy vodka gnocchi as main entrees, a hot honey pizza and tiramisu for dessert. I liked everything I tried, but my favorite dish of the night was the spicy vodka gnocchi. The gnocchi was perfectly cooked and the sauce was great. The sauce was just spicy enough for you known it was there, and it has a great flavor. Ask your waiter to add spicy sausage to the dish, you’ll love it. The pappardelle bolognese is also a must order and it’s perfectly al dente. Second, I loved the ambience. The decor is rustic and they turn the lights low to create the perfect intimate atmosphere. Like I said above, I loved the unpretentious, cozy and friendly atmosphere. Third. The service was very good. My waiter was very nice; and food can out hot and timely. He coursed out the meal perfectly.

Read moreBeautiful restaurant with enough seating. Especially alot of outdoor seating. Great that its has a reservation system as everyone is out trying to eat out again. So no lines and waiting.
Service is excellant. Attentive and friendly staff always asking if everything is okay. Their menu itself is a bit small and a bit odd for an authentic italian resturant to not have any pasta on the menu. That being said the food is actual quite goid and trult authentic italian. You can tell they are trying to stay true to italian recipes. Both the Focacia bread and meatballs are quite delicious. Prosciutto is quite good. But the shrimp Rosettio is quite amazing and worth a trip. A great place for a dinner date. Pricing is about average and about 130 without tip with drinks for a table of 3.
Personally im quite happy with the food. Be aware though parking is quite bad in the area as there are bars around and on their street it paid parking signs but deceptive permit parking from 6pm to 6am. So dont park there. If you need to find parking...paid street parking on elm street by the Chase and Church 2 blocks away is plentiful. If not find free parking on lassale a 5...
Read moreEduardo's is this small restaurant on the corner of Division and Dearborn, post the Walgreens. I almost missed it but it was lit up so brightly that it reminded me of Dicken's Christmas Carol. The inside looks similar too. The place is small but has lots of wood and is set up to be a wine bar. Fortunately for me, they also have outstanding food. I would go here for a date or to meet an old friend for conversation in a warm and comfortable space.
Went here with J and S- J and I had the Bubbles for apples- a special cocktail for Autumn. I liked it, but it was a little heavy on the apple. A little more of the St Germain would have made it a more adult drink.
The food was delicious, all of it. I could have given the salad a pass though. We had the honey goat cheese, the soft cow cheese and the ham- all delicious. The cranberry sorbet they gave us with the cheeses was great too. We also had the gnocchi special with the fried egg, and the pepperoni with truffle oil pizza. The pizza was super thin crusted, just as I like it and there is a delicious vegetarian one that I will go back to try.
Thanks for a great...
