Gold Coast Social — Restaurant in Chicago

I made a reservation at Gold Coast social this past weekend to celebrate my birthday and left so disappointed. I had made a reservation with Opentable 2 weeks prior for 2:30pm on Sunday. I get there at 2:30pm exactly and I tell the security in the front that I have a reservation for a table at 2:30pm. He said it doesnt matter that I have to wait to get in since they are at capacity. I explain to him how I made a reservation and I dont want to lose it since my table should be reserved. He said that I won't lose my reservation and to get in line. There's a good 10 people infront of me. My friends and I (who are all accounted for in the reservation) finally get to the front of the line at 3pm and they inform us that girls are free to get in but guys have to pay a $20 cover. I explain to the same security that we have a reservation at 2:30pm and that it's not fair for my friends to pay cover. He repeated himself and walked away. Since it's 2:30pm we have already passed the time for the 2hr bottomless mimosa which was supposed to be included in my 2:30pm reservation. The security being "nice" let my guy friends get cash while he let us girls in. He said that hell account for them once them come back. We get inside and it is PACKED. I wait around like 5-10 minutes for the host to finally come to the host stand and I show her my reservation. She tells me she'll be back and doesn't come back for another like 10 minutes. She finally comes back and tells me she's looking for a table for us. However, it's already 3pm and my reservation was at 2:30pm, why isn't a table already reserved for me? She comes back and I ask her "be honest, what's it looking like?". She tells me that it's going to be another 35 minutes for a table. I tell her that we're leaving but if we could get our cover back. She informs me that she doesn't handle that part so we'd have to ask the security. I already know he's not going to give us our money back. She calls her manager for us so we can get our cover back. He came and let us out so the security could give us our cover back. The manager told us to come back next Saturday when it's not so hectic -.- I spent an hour in line, waiting for a table, etc and I still didn't receive my table that I had a 2:30pm reservation for. Was I supposed to come at 1pm so that I'd have my table by 2:30pm? That's absurd and should be communicated. If I knew this was how this establishment worked, I would've never placed a reservation and I would've never relied on this place for me to have a good time with my friends for my birthday. We were the first people there and were seated at table. It was our first time there so we really didn’t know how everything works. While sitting there we get asked what we are ordering (bottle) because the tables are only for people spending $150+ We were never told this at the door or anything. Anyway we ordered a bottle cause why not now we’re sitting and dancing enjoying our time. We asked for some shot glasses and they brought a plate of about 10 glasses. EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THE GLASSES WERE FLITHY! Full of lipstick stains, paper, you can tell they were not cleaned nor checked before even leaving the kitchen. Every 10mins a busser was coming to our table touching our bottle to see how much is left and what not. It felt like we were being watched. Then we get told we have to move from the table cause it’s reserved for someone else. We’re confused because no one told us this all they said in order to have a table we needed to order, which is what we did but no one said anything about a time limit at the table or that we had to continue ordering bottles in order to stay at the table. Very bad lack of communication. On top of that the “bottle girl” only came to our table one time and that was just to order and even then the communication was bad because we were told one price and then another came and told us completely different price after that we never seen her again besides sitting at other tables...

Very dissatisfied with the services we were provided here. We attended this location for my girlfriend's birthday. She spoke with the location multiple times to confirm details of the table we reserved and how long we would have the table for. As soon as we got there they had no details about our reservation, guy that my gf was in contact with wasn't even at the location. We were there for about 45min and spent around $550-$600 dollars for food and drink. We were supposed to have the table for 2hrs but after 45min we were told we had to move or consolidate our space since we will not be purchasing a bottle from the bar. I understand that they make their money off of the bottle but we already spent as much as a bottle within 45min! Seems ridiculous to move people spending a lot of money to squeeze in a group of 10 guys coming in with no reservation. We had to share a booth with random people we didn't know until I got fed up closed the tab and left. Go here if you want to have a good time with no plans in mind but PLEASE do not schedule anything here or expect to be treated well even while spending a decent amount of money. Food was ok for a bar, atmosphere was just fine, same with music but be prepared to be sardined into a tiny building trying to pose as a night club location that doesn't appear to keep track of their reservations or follow the info they originally said before making a...
