If you’re curious about this place and need a review to help you make your decision on whether or not to eat here, please let this be that one. Looking over the reviews, I figured this place would be fine to eat at. Our hotel is right next door and we were tired of driving around, so we decided on the pub next door. The reviews made it seem promising so we took our chance. From outside, it looks closed. There’s no light that tells you when they’re open or closed and no sign to tell you exactly what their hours are. Only “11 until close.” So when is close? We walk in and see a sign that says seat yourself and we go to sit and while the place looks as if it’s slowing down from a rush, the other customers looked displeased. Tables were not bussed and seemed as though half the chairs were missing. We sat down and waited to get service and it took a minute to even get menus. Which was fine, but the menu items were not Irish like you would believe it to be. Server didn’t stick around long enough to get drinks. She set the menus down and left, which gave us time to look around. There’s reviews about dust being everywhere and I figured it was because the chandeliers were too delicate, but if you look on top of the fans, there is so much build up that the second you turn it, a huge dust bunny is falling in your food and drink. Finally, our server came back and asked our drinks and we hadn’t decided if we wanted alcohol or not or if we were even going to stay, so we just order water. She comes back with water then off she goes. Our server honestly probably only said 3 words to us at the most the whole visit. We decide and we just sit there waiting and waiting for our server to realize that hey, we would like to eat at some point. One of us ordered an appetizer and two of us ordered pulled pork and the other ordered a bowl of chili. Our food came out in a timely manor, but never received the appetizer and I had asked for chips with my meal and never received that either. I put it off as she forgot since she did not write any of it down. The bowl of chili was literally half a bottle of chili pepper seasoning and ground beef. And you could not taste anything but the seasoning. The pulled pork wasn’t that bad, but as someone who likes sauce ON my pork, it was cooked into it, which is fine, I just really like extra barbecue. But the coleslaw that comes with it was not great at all. So we ate quickly so we could leave and hopefully get away from the obvious drunks who needed to be cut off awhile ago, and our server just seemed to avoid us like the plaque. Piled our plates up and waited to get our check and we finally had to pull her aside after she passed our table 4 or 5 times and ask her for the check. No charge for our appetizer we didn’t get. No charge for the chips I had asked for. So we paid and left. We haven’t even been gone a half hour from there and two of the three of us already feel sick. I don’t understand how it’s an “Irish pub” when there’s only one Irish item on the menu and the Irish decor is little to nothing. The place really should just be a bar and not serve food whatsoever. And with how dirty the place was, I’m surprised the health department hasn’t come in and told them to clean the place. This place isn’t a place to eat and probably shouldn’t be walked into until it’s...

I give a lot of 5 star reviews of restaurants and that is because I review others online reviews before going to most places.

While visiting Chicago and walking about, we decided to come here on our last day in Chicago and before our flight home. It was right beside our Sheraton Grand Chicago Riverfront hotel and knew prior the reviews were excellent.

My wife had the Shepherd’s Pie and I had the Lamb Stew bowl size. It also comes in a cup size.

When the food arrived, I was initially worried the bowl was small and couldn’t image the cup serving size being much smaller. But while eating, there was no shortage of meat chunks and I did fill up. And I usually eat a lot/too much.

I tried an Irish Whiskey I have never heard of or seen before. They have a very nice assortment of Irish Whiskeys.

Our server was Devonante (according to the receipt). I thought it was Devonte but cannot be sure now. He was polite and kind.

They also had a very nice patio alongside the...

Excellent Irish pub right on the river with great service, delicious food, and a nice patio. We hung out to enjoy a quick dinner and a few drinks prior to our architectural river cruise, so the location was perfect. Since we had limited time, the friendly server was very accommodating to take both our drink order and food order at the same time and get it in right away. We ordered almost every single appetizer and split them all. They were so good that they were devoured almost immediately, leaving us wishing we had more time to stick around and enjoy more of their delicious food. While the wings were nothing to write home about, the lamb stew was amazing, the cheesy fingerling potatoes were thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, the reuben rolls were perfectly delicious, and both the sausage platter and pretzel bites were devoured...

Lizzie McNeill’s is probably as close as it gets to a neighborhood bar for this area. Feels a little dive-y but is still an OK place to bring the kids along. Very lively joint and busy at times but probably just as accessible as anywhere. Food portions are tremendous! Food is OK, it’s not going to win any awards but it’s straight to the point. You know what you’re getting, and you’re gonna get A LOT of it. Come hungry! Wait staff took a while to even recognize we were there, but the waitress who took care of us did a pretty darn good job. In nice weather there’s tons of outdoor seating along the river, with incredible views. It’s something different for this area and that made it a good change-up. Lots of great beer to choose from!

We walked over from The Sheraton Grand since the hotel has limited food options. We waited only about 10 minutes on a Friday night and the wait staff was super friendly. Huge selection of beers and cocktails. We stayed with the Guinness BBQ wings which were crisp and moist and very tasty. Also tried the Chicken and Chips which was a huge amount of chicken fingers and fries. Had buffalo sauce on the side which they needed as the breading did not have much flavor. Other people in my party had burgers which they said were very good. This place is a great Irish bar located along the Chicago River. I want to come back in the summer as they offer lots of seating along the river with great views of the city.
