It was okay, the ice cream was very creamy BUT it melted so quickly I felt forced to eat it rapidly so docked a star. The consistency is just too soft and it's melts right away. I also docked another star bc the vanilla ice cream was just super sugary. It's not like your typical sweetness that comes with eating ice cream it was insanely sweet. I didn't notice when it was covered in chocolate but after I ate the chocolate off and got to the rest of the cone I could taste just how sweet the ice cream itself was and it was too much I didn't even finish the cone. Way too sweet. I got the large cone which is $3 and extra $1 for dipping it in chocolate. Ordered two large dipped cones with taxes was $10. FYI everything is made with some type of oat. The service was fine, we were greeted when we arrived. Unfortunately won't be coming back, it wasn't what I expected. Disappointed. They also don't allow the public to use the restroom which I think is silly of any establishment that offers food to not allow customers access. Parking hard to find.

This was, without a doubt, the worst customer service experience I’ve ever had. The staff at this place were incredibly rude and completely disrespectful to my friend and me. From the moment we walked in, I could feel them judging us. When I tried to ask about the different ice cream options, they gave me a look like I was too stupid to even understand. I’ve never been treated so poorly in any establishment. It was like they couldn’t care less about being polite or even pretending to be helpful.

As if the demeaning attitude wasn’t enough, they topped it off by flashing us a fake smile and sarcastically telling me to "have a nice day" when we were leaving. Yeah, real nice—after treating me like garbage the whole time. I honestly think I could’ve tolerated the mediocre ice cream if the staff hadn’t been so outright nasty and condescending. They made what should have been a fun stop for dessert into an incredibly uncomfortable and frustrating experience.

And speaking of the ice cream, I had the vanilla ice cream bar, which was completely flavorless. I have had good vegan ice cream before and this was just not it. It tasted icy, like it had melted and been refrozen, and the chocolate coating was bad, it tasted like cheap chocolate. I even tried their vanilla soft serve, and it tasted old and stale, but by that point, it didn’t even matter because the way the staff treated us was the real deal-breaker.

I will never come back here, and I’m telling all my friends and family to avoid this place. The awful customer service ruined everything. Don’t waste your time or money on a place where the staff treats you like you’re...

Runaway Cow is an ice cream shop serving up plant-based, vegan soft-serve and novelties. I'm hesitant to call out that they're vegan because of the stigma that's tied to restaurants labeled as such. I am the farthest thing from vegan (if you don't believe me, check out my reviews). I spent years in the food industry and can generally tell when something is vegan and trying to hide it.

Truly, this is as good as any other soft-serve sundae I've had. If they weren't branded as "vegan" and "plant-based," I'd make a fortune off scamming people into believing it wasn't. Then I'd take that money and buy more sundaes.

The German Chocolate Sundae was a real treat. Chocolate soft-serve topped with sweetened coconut and pecans, draped with caramel, and crowned with the signature whipped cream and cherry. It was reminiscent of the German Chocolate Cakes our grandmothers used to bake when we were kids.

There's something for everyone here. From chocolate covered bananas, to choco tacos, to cones and shakes. Service was helpful and very friendly.

If you're reading this and thinking, "Yeah ok, I've heard that before," I challenge you to prove me wrong. Go to Runaway Cow. If you can tell the difference, congratulations, you've beaten me and can rub my nose in it. But I don't think you will. I think you're going to have that first spoonful and curse my name under your breath, because I was right. You CAN'T tell the difference... This IS as good as regular soft-serve... And if that's you, then you owe this...

Some might say I am a connoisseur of hot fudge and peanut related food items, a vagabond searching for culinary perfection. In the case of the ever elusive hot fudge peanut parfait, it is essential that the hot fudge rest at the bottom of the dish. Like a foot rub after a long day of work, a trophy at the finish line, a rainbow at the end of a summer shower, hot fudge must be the final chapter of the novel. As for peanuts, they are not a one size fits all legume. Me personally, I prefer my legumes soaked, peanuts being the exception, but that’s another story for another time. If you’re looking to elevate your peanut game, you can’t go wrong with Spanish peanuts. Spanish peanuts don’t hold the title of People Magazine’s Sexiest Legume of the Year 5 times running just for showing up. Now, if you pair layer after layer of hot fudge with layer after layer of its BFF Spanish peanuts and combine their forces with some soft serve vegan ice cream… Gotdamn, you better watch out. I’d paint three murals for some of that frozen goodness because we are not the same. Runaway Cow knows what they’re doing. The White Sox might be complete trash but Runaway Cow is the shining beacon Bridgeport needs. God...
