Roti at 310 W Adams St, Chicago, IL 60606. Better do a course on menu items and then enter this place as you would be asked what to put in your bowl even when you are standing far away and cannot see the items.
This was my second time here. I was standing in long queue and was around 7-8 foot away from the counter. But, the gentleman standing across the counter started asking what would I like to have. That was a bit surprising as I was still far from him and I said I am new here and let me check the menu options and I decided to go with falafal rice bowl. He transferred the bowl with Rice and Falafal to next gentleman and he asked me what kind of sauces I will have in my bowl. I said let me reach there first and will let you know.... He kept staring at me as if I am the one who is delaying.... I mean, how can you ask what to put in your bowl even when I do not the what kind of sauces they have and is not visible from where you are standing far. Food was good but operations management I...
Read moreI've been a Roti fan for many years and have lived through the days of unlimited toppings, to 3 toppings, to unlimited again, and many other changes. Roti has been a top spot for over a decade, despite the price increases and many changes to the menu it has always been a great spot to grab a healthier lunch. The only reason I knock Roti one star is they have really trimmed down the vegetables this last go around. For anyone new to Roti, they will probably love it. For anyone who remembers how much variety they had, it is hard to see the reduction in options while the price rises & the box shrinks. All expected during this inflationary period, but cannot help but be disappointed on the incredible options that have been lost. Again, this place is fantastic and should be a part of any...
Read moreI usually go to the Roti at 33 N. Dearborn before going to Broadway in Chicago, but this location is right near the Cadillac Palace Theatre and I met friends here before a show. That said, they were not at all prepared for dinner service at 6pm on Tuesday and did not have pitas ready nor chicken, which they had to prepare as we waited 5-10 minutes for the kabob meat on the grill. They only made enough to serve 2 people and by the time that was ready, there were another 8-10 customers in line - many wanting chicken. The plus was that it was made to order, and so were the pitas but it took forever. I ordered mine as a wrap which was very sloppily put together and very messy to eat. In general, I will go back to the Dearborn location for dinner service and leave this one to deal with...
