Do-Rite Donuts & Chicken — Restaurant in Chicago

After visiting the Skydeck, we (son, sister, and I) stopped here to get some lunch on a Saturday afternoon as we hadn’t eaten all day.

The line wasn’t very long and the order placed at 12:16pm. I got the bbq chicken sandwich, plain, combo with fries and a drink. My son got the 3 piece tenders combo. I got a blueberry crumb donut and he got a holly sprinkles donut. The cashier was friendly and helpful.

Our order was ready at 12:23pm. Their fountain machine had limited options, which was unfortunate and unusual. The bbq sauce on my sandwich was very different and unexpected. It didn’t taste like bbq sauce. It wasn’t nasty, per se, but not traditional bbq sauce. My son felt the same as he had got bbq sauce to go with his meal. The hue of the bbq sauce was a red-Orange which gives hot sauce vibes, lol. I would be caution if getting the bbq sauce for kids and they are wanting the traditional bbq sauce. The chicken itself was crispy. We found out later that at the bottom of the box, there was a piece of bread to go with the tenders combo as well.

Seating can be a challenge as it pretty much a free for all as there are many food establishments in the building and may large families. We luckily were able to find an area to accommodate the 3 of us.

We saved the donuts and ate them later. The blueberry crumb donut was merely okay, to me. I’ve had better blueberry donuts. It may have been the “crumb” part that threw me off, but I wasn’t a fan. My son liked his donut. They have gluten free...

I mostly order in via Ubereats. My fave donuts in the city, the old fashioned is my sweet tooth go to. Everything I've tried here has been delicious. I loved the carrot cake latte too and some of the seasonal donut options I have tried so far.

I have given endless 5 stars on UE and have rarely had any issue, but my last couple orders the chicken tenders have been pathetic. They are all half the size they used to be, every single one, tougher in texture, and no I am not satisfied with one extra tender to make up for the size of the others lacking when the extra tender in question looks like this.

And today my order had the tiniest bit of filling in the boston cream, other times it is busting at the seems with filling. Major quality control issue. Please fix this. I won't keep paying for half the meat in every order. I was shocked when I opened the box...

Went here for lunch and was extremely disappointed. Order the Chicken sandwich with BBQ and Spice. The order took quite a bit longer than I would have expected, but if it was good - it would have been worth it. Unfortunately it was not. The chicken was pounded thinner than a McDonalds McChicken, there was no sauce or spice to speak of and overall was nothing better than any other fast food sandwich. So I figured, well maybe their donuts were better? Nope. Chocolate Old Fashion was crispy and stale...yes a crispy, stale donut. That's a new one for me. Overall it seems this location has some serious quality control or is just banking on the unknowing tourist crowds to keep it afloat. Locals who work in the area will learn to avoid...
