Stan’s Donuts & Coffee — Restaurant in Chicago

We came here to try Le Stan Croissant donut. I didn’t know there would be cream custard filling inside but I was relieved to find out that it was not too sweet like most desserts are. You could see the croissant layers on the outside as well as near the center of the donut (after eating half of it). I wouldn’t say that the layers are that separated and / or soft like a croissant but I’m glad I got to try it. I would also prefer to have fewer grains of sugar dusted on the donut. Most importantly, it is approved by my French boyfriend who loves eating chicken breasts and zucchini, “nodding It’s pretty good!”

We also got the Blueberry Cream Cheese Pocket and Chocolate Long John. The filling inside the cream cheese pocket tastes just like the croissant donut and the blueberry jam was very fragrant although a tad sweet for me. The outside is glazed and the overall taste was great. The Chocolate Long John reminded us of an éclair. Like the other donuts we got, the chocolate was not overly sweet and the donuts were so big that they felt like bread. The Stan’s House Blend coffee was standard.

As far as the donuts go, they are fantastic. They have a really great variety and they taste fresh. In addition to being delicious, they are also really pretty. Pricing is good and fair for the quality. I brought back a half dozen different ones for everyone to try back home (Detroit) and all of them were amazing. I will definitely go back to get donuts when I'm back in the city.

I knocked one star off for the poor service I had because I am really hoping it was just a fluke thing and I don't want to rate the place lower since the donuts are so good. I ordered and paid for two coffee drinks (an iced mocha and a cold brew coffee, both simple) and I had to leave without them to catch my train because the employee was on their phone rather than making the drinks. I told the employee at the register (who was really friendly and helpful) that I had to leave so she could let the employee know not to make them, but I was really bummed to pay for drinks that wasn't able to get after waiting. We recently visited Stan’s Donuts and Coffee in Chicago, and it was an incredible experience! The moment we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly staff and the delightful aroma of freshly baked donuts. The variety of donuts is impressive, with both classic flavors and unique, creative options. We tried the Nutella Pocket and it was absolutely delicious—rich, creamy, and perfectly sweet.

The coffee was equally outstanding. We had cappuccinos, and they were expertly made with a perfect balance of smooth espresso and frothy milk. The cozy atmosphere made it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy our treats.

The service was fast and efficient, even during busy hours. The staff were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The location is also convenient, making it a great stop for a quick breakfast or an afternoon snack.
