I order taste of Chicago for my sister every year for Christmas. This year I was having difficulty ordering online as a guest and when it said I already had an account I wasn’t getting a password reset for my account so I had to set up an account with a new email. Somehow the billing and mailing address were mixed up however no one said anything and my sister received the food but the dry ice was gone and the food had gone bad. When I contacted them I had no response. When my sister contacted them they said to not eat and they would send a replacement. My sister verified the correct address and they were sending. We received a tracking number but my sister still hadn’t received anything. They informed me that I could reorder and get 50% off. I paid over $100 for the original order I wasn’t going to pay again. I ordered a Chicago hot dog . I received my togo bag and got one the worse version of this iconic item right here at this place . Vienna beef or any all beef hot dog will do, but to stick a jumbo pork, chicken & turkey weiner from aldis or wherever u guys got them from was disgusting . How can you call yourself taste of Chicago when you cannot get a simple Chicago classic correct . My friends at taste of Chicago please replace that garbage you served me and invite me back please to get a really 100 % all beef hot dog like the pictures on wall depict and show. I live a couple doors down from this place and ONLY visit here when I'm extremely desperate and short on time. The food always tastes weird, as if it was cooked in old grease, or as if it was stored improperly before cooking. I ordered an easy item, the pizza puff. After initially picking it up in my hands and then biting into it, I immediately realized it was not cooked to temperature in the middle. It felt like it was less than room temperature (the inside of pizza puff). This means they didn't cook it thoroughly or they reheated it. Either way it's a problem. It would really suck if someone were to contact Chicago Department of Public Health and have them send out an undercover analyst to make sure everything's up to standard. 2 thumbs down. Mild sauce...
