Date: 06/20, lunch, party of 3, Streeterville location
I’ve never felt the need to leave a negative review before, but our experience yesterday was truly disappointing. We were initially impressed by the decor and warm welcome from the host and the girl who seated us, she asked if we wanted sparkling water or still water with a smile on. It set high expectations. Unfortunately, seems like we expected too much.
I ordered the harami steak frites and asked if I could substitute the regular fries with parmesan truffle fries. Ethan (yes I call you out) said he’d see what he could do, but never followed up. The food arrived as two separate dishes, the steak and a seperate plate of parmesan truffle fries, but no steak knife was provided, and the steak was not rested properly, because it was chewy inside, not tender. I let Ethan know I didn’t enjoy it and asked to have it removed from the check. He said ok.
However, when the check arrived, the steak frites and side of parmesan truffle fries were both on the bill. When I asked why, Ethan said the steak couldn’t be removed because we ate the fries come with the steak, even though they were served separately. If the restaurant cares about the inventory that much, I would rather paying 2 sides of parmesan truffle fries, but being charged for the entire entrée of steak that costs 40$ made no sense.
Ethan asked if I wanted to talk to the manager, at first, I said no because I didn't want to make a fuss, but seems like he didn't want to communicate, I said yes. I asked the manager why we got charged for the steak. He said he couldn't modify or change because "this is how this restaurant works" and he "doesn't understand why", an unacceptable response from someone in a leadership role. We even showed him a photo proving the steak and fries were served separately. Eventually, the bill was fixed, and he apologized for the “miscommunication.”
What truly bothered me was the inconsistent service. Ethan looked friendly with the table next to us, but disengaged with us. As a server myself, I understand the pressures of the job, but guests can sense when they’re not being treated equally.
We were totally aware that 18% gratuity was applied for all bill, but you have to perform a good service to deserve 18% or more. The restaurant I work for apply 20% gratuity. And guess what customers say if they don't have good experience? "We don't think your service worth the tip."
This review isn’t to damage the business and I never meant to do so, but to point out that hospitality matters, and yesterday, it was sorely lacking. I hope this feedback is taken seriously,...

DO NOT host events at Hampton Social Streeterville. Their unprofessionalism, lack of adherence to reservations, and poor hospitality ruined my Bridal Shower Celebration with my coworkers.
My colleagues hosted a bridal shower for myself and had a reservation under 9 people. I was running 15 min late with another colleague and saw they were already seated at a 6 person table. I asked the hostess tonight (tall, thin, blonde male working on the second floor who refused to provide his name) if he can accommodate our reservation and he was very short, rude and said no without any explanation. He placed myself, as the bride, at a table opposite with my colleague away from the rest of the group. I understand the tables could not be placed together due to a fire hazard but there were multiple vacant tables that could accommodate us. I asked if we can sit at another table all together since it was my event and he interrupted me and said no. I proceeded to ask another server and he nicely stated he will talk to the manager. The hostess then approached me frustrated and stated "if you were nice to me I would have had you sat with your friends." I was thrown aback as I merely wanted our reservation seating. As I proceeded back to wait for the manager the hostess then again physically rammed himself into me, I dropped my bag, and made me feel very uncomfortable. Eventually I was able to speak to the manager and I was accommodated to my reservation for my bridal shower- an hour after my reservation was made.
I am extremely distraught and hurt of these spiteful actions. I serve as the social chair of my team and would regularly host monthly events at this hampton social but I will no longer be hosting events here and I will be warning all of my friends and acquaintances to never come here again.
I am shocked, hurt, and disappointed with the lack of professionalism, verbal/physical antagonizing, and will never come here again. This is disappointing because the food and atmosphere is great but it was not worth being treated...
Read moreOur team's visit to The Hampton Social, following an exciting outing at The Great Escape Room next door, was nothing short of spectacular. This restaurant not only impressed us with its ambiance and live music but also left us raving about the culinary delights we experienced.
From the get-go, the décor of The Hampton Social set a chic yet inviting atmosphere, perfect for our company dinner.
Our culinary journey at The Hampton Social was highlighted by a selection of exquisite dishes. We opted for the cold lobster rolls, which were a refreshing and flavorful treat, showcasing the freshness and quality of the seafood. The grilled octopus was another standout, tender and perfectly seasoned, leaving us wanting more. The crab and shrimp bruschetta offered a delightful twist on a classic, with every bite bursting with the fresh flavors of the sea.
The colossal crab cake was a true testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality, packed with succulent crab meat and barely any filler, crisped to perfection on the outside while remaining tender and moist inside. The golden beet salad was a refreshing counterpart to our seafood-heavy meal, with its vibrant flavors and textures providing a light and healthy option that was equally satisfying.
One note on the noise level: while the live music added to the ambiance and provided a vibrant background, we found it to be slightly louder than ideal, which made conversation among our team a bit challenging at times. Despite this, the performance was enjoyable and added a lively touch to the atmosphere.
The service at The Hampton Social was impeccable. The staff were not only attentive and friendly but also knowledgeable, guiding us through the menu with great recommendations that enhanced our dining experience.
Ending our team outing at The Hampton Social was the best decision we could have made. We wholeheartedly recommend The Hampton Social to anyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience. Whether it's for a casual dinner or a special celebration, this place is sure to impress. We will definitely be recommending it to our friends, family,...
