If my memory serves me correctly,on my Debut visit a very long time ago I ordered one of their cheeseburgers.I don't remember if I had fries with it or not,but I think I probably liked the burger though.Anyway,me and my mom had our debut visit there together the other day.I ordered their Certified Angus Beef Barbecue Meatloaf with Garlic Mashed Potatoes that came with some green beans or Asparagus. She ordered their Pork Ribs and French Fries. The Beef Meatloaf here is the least of the beef meatloaf entrees I have ever had so far in Chicago restaurants to date. The Barbecue sauce that came with it is most definitely needed, but they didn't put enough of it on my meatloaf unfortunately.Anytime I have to ask for more sauce on my meatloaf that's a problem for me personally.Their garlic mashed potatoes was nothing special and the portion size was extremely small for the price their charging for this entree, period. The green beans or Asparagus was actually the best thing I ate on my plate the other day.I got some leftovers of that in my refrigerator right now and will most definitely finish eating that today. My mom said her food was okay.I don't know if that is an okay enough to visit this restaurant again or the mediocre version of okay of disappointment aka NOT visiting this restaurant ever again, yet.I also ordered their version of "Banana Pudding" too for dessert.Their "Banana Pudding" is the Infinite opposite of the greatest one at "Pearl's Place",the original flavor classic from "Magnolia's Bakery",and the more Wafers than a Catholic Church version at "Shawn-Michelle".The male restroom here has extremely dim lighting despite the otherwise nice looking interior of it.It also has an inexcusably broken toilet seat and I feel bad for those that will have to used that one day, period. The interior design in the dining area is a decent looking wood design. The seating is a combination of cushioned bench tables and uncomfortable looking or non-cushioned chair tables and an unusual hybrid of these two for some tables.Yes,they have so-called "music" playing coming from their ceiling area that I don't like, but their volume level was almost halfway Grating to my ears. The waitress we had was an ordinary waitress attitude and demeanor wise at best.On my way out of the door to go home, multiple other employees (majority females) very strangely was speaking to me and mom (kind of cordially???) as if they just knew that we were NOT well pleased with what we ordered and ate there the other day.Maybe their "Third Eye" or "3rd Eyes" must've been activated, because they're absolutely correct as far as I am...
Read moreSo very incredibly disappointing. I've been wanting to go to a Weber Grill for years. We were in town for the weekend and finally we went!!!!!
Boyfriend and daughter came with. The menu looked soooooo good it took me some time to figure out what to get. We all had water upon arrival and our glass water container sat empty the remainder of our dinner even after my daughter said she only wanted water with her meal. Only after my boyfriends empty dish was removed did we get a refill, because we asked.
I finally decided on the prime burger, without onions after getting told it came in a pretzel bun-- yes, that was MY deciding factor. The pretzel bun. I ordered it medium rare. This comes with parmesan fries.
Boyfriend got the beer can chicken with roasted garlic mashed potatoes.
Daughter got the turkey burger with kettle chips.
Boyfriend's dish was perfect, though he said he couldn't taste the grill on the chicken. I sampled it myself and it was good.
Daughters dish she felt was over cooked and tasted burnt though when we brought it up with our waitress she said it had to be cooked through. Totally get that but it was BLACK on one entire side. She said she's had better kettle chips. I couldn't try her burger because she drowned it in ketchup in order to eat it.
My burger arrived, NOT in a pretzel bun. I didn't catch the fries nor did I see our waitress again until it was really too late. I was disappointed because however it was plated the first time my burger had a sauce on the top and bottom, when it was moved to a pretzel bun none of that flavorful sauce came with it, it left my burger bland and I wound up using salt to give it something extra and removing it from the pretzel bun which was cold and super dry without the sauce. Totally bummed especially for the cost.
Aside from the kitchen aspect or service was great. Our waitress was great and kind but I...
Read moreGroup of 4 reservation. Our server was Erik L according to our receipt. I will assume his awful service was due to knowing that no matter how he behaved he was getting a guaranteed 18% ‘gratuity’ charge which is added Friday to Sunday. Not sure why I have to supplement their salary when they don’t provide a service. Let alone a good one.
He was abrupt, blunt, forceful, impatient. Asking our drinks order within about 30 seconds of seating. Food ordered and arrived quickly. There was an assumption, as the female, I had ordered the chicken whilst the other 3 males ordered the steaks. Incorrect. The food was very good although the chicken was an odd dish. Just have a mass of 2 chicken legs, dumped on a plate. My friend had a bit of an issue separating it.
Erik tried to clear my plate when it wasn’t clear and my cutlery was not set together to indicate completion. I said no, so he cleared the others. He asked about desert menu. We said yes… he said he would deliver those once I had finished. 30 seconds later, whilst serving another table he bleated out the 4 deserts of choice and immediately turned back around to the other table. 2 minutes later asked if we wanted deserts. My friends both ordered. He asked if there were any more. We said no. He said he would bring spoons anyway.
Once the deserts were finished (again, the food was good) he dumped the bill on the table. And walked away. We looked and saw the added gratuity which was, excessive for a mandatory gratuity. Why should it be mandatory… isn’t that the decision of the customer to tip their server based on their level of service?
The way in which he spoke to us simply implied he wanted us in and out. Pronto. He ruined our whole experience at the restaurant. Not sure why he was so rude, maybe it’s because we are British. Who knows. But I certainly resent the gratuity payment. It was very much...
