If you are looking for unique finds for your kitchen and dining room you need to look no further than P.O.S.H.! Honestly as a great area for antiques and vintage goods you can find quite a bit else here well but my wife is a foodie and chef so unique kitchen items are always what I have my eyes open for - P.O.S.H. delivers it in spades!
It's a bit of a hike north from where I usually tend to be in the city but the few times I've been there I've struck gold on each occasion. From glassware (I found a great wine glass here!) to dishes to serving pieces to storage and more - you can almost always find something fun here. While the prices can absolutely rise up there (it is in the heart of a city and they import originality from around the world) there is items in all price ranges and budgets with items on sale as well.
If you are in the middle of the city and want to find a gift that falls into the unique category I suggest checking out P.O.S.H. for anyone who likes vintage or for those who are comfortable in the kitchen. (Again there's a slew of other items here as well but if that's who you're buying a gift for you...
Read moreI’m a WOC this is a dusty store full of garage sale items at designer prices .
Owner / store associate was shady. The items I purchased had stickers for one price that I definitely saw /checked as I shopped and before I left my items at the counter and as I handed them to the worker I noticed her peeling the stickers off but I didn’t think too much into it .
I walked away from the counter to keep browsing came back and checked out , the total was more than the total of what the prices originally said even with tax added and I went to double check the prices and ALL tags had been taken off now it made sense why she was peeling the stickers off she literally charged me 50% more on each item than what was originally listed which I know because she had the audacity to give me an itemized receipt that didn’t match the prices of the stickers she tore off when my back was turned.
There are so many better, cleaner, more organized and authentic “antique” shops in Chicago with leagues better pricing and none of the deceitful...
Read moreAbsolutely disappointing visit. Popped into town for my birthday and planned my whole day on stopping by and visiting and it was a complete let down. We walked in and were not greeted ONCE or even acknowledged by the 3+ associates that were out on the sales floor. There was only one other customer in the store who they were not helping. We browsed for a good chunk of time and still not one associate came over to ask how we were or if we had any questions. They quickly and happily greeted people who came in after us. I had a basket of items I had picked out and was ready to purchase and still no response or acknowledgment from the staff. It left such a bad taste in my mouth and I was appalled that such a beautifully curated store had such distasteful team. A majority of the items are wholesale (while very still lovely). It was disappointing to see a store so marketed as vintage to have a very small selection and all similar items so not much of a variety. Definitely do not recommend. They seem to favor a specific set of...
