Kathy's Deli — Restaurant in Chico

I literally live around the corner from this place, so getting there 1st thing is EASY. That's about the best thing I can say about this "Deli". To start, they're never open when it's advertised, or not on time. I've repeatedly gotten there at Opening only for them to inform me that they are OUT of something, such as eggs, hamburger, gravy, chicken, etc... The portions are small compared to other establishments, the chicken can be tough and over-smothered in sauce to compensate, egg rolls are extremely greasy, and the rice is clumpy. Kathy's will serve you exactly what THEY want to get rid of during any given day. Good luck getting a Moco Loco!! UPDATE...as of 2/7/22, it's still the same restaurant, still the same food, still the same service. It has a cult following with the college students... but most "Foodies" will avoid it and choose better establishments. UPDATE, 5/30/22... Still NO major change to the review, other than reduced hours now that the students are gone...

Great food! My partner and I came to Kathy's because his brother highly recommended it. I got veggie egg rolls, not pictured because I inhaled them, and pot stickers. My partner got sour, spicy chicken larb, and deep fried beef jerky. Everything was excellent! I can't recommend Kathy's enough! Felt like trying a new Pho place and decided Kathy's was the one! They definitely didn't disappoint. I love that they have the garlic inside their pho which was new to me, it added a nice flavor. Their meat was excellent quality as well. Wasn't used to the way they made the crab ragoons but it added to the fun of trying a new place.
