I don't know why I had originally put 3 stars 2 years ago. I never even wrote the review! So I redacted the original, although due to Covid, its likely been that long since we dined in. However we usually eat there at least once a month. So that being said, the food is good, but the beer is why we LOVE this place. Let's be honest. One of the best beer makers in America right here in my hometown. One of the few things in Chico I can still feel proud of. Anyways.. The variety of beers is always a staple. We tend to get a sampler every visit to start out. Lol except this one time when we were going to have a quick lunch before we went grocery shopping on a Sunday afternoon. We grabbed 2 seats at the bar and tried a new beer that just came out at the time "Ovila" which snbc. Partnered with the monks from a nearby winery to create this tasty full bodies beer. There was a guy there visiting from Tahoe and we drank and enjoyed the small talk for a bit. We ate our hamburgers and ordered another round. The next thing I knew was my teenage son was pounding on our bedroom door yelling, "Are you guys getting up?" As I discovered I was lying naked alone on the floor. I jumped up to find my husband fully clothed on our bed that somehow was missing the sheets and blankets I was used to seeing. I yelled to my husband to "Get up YOUR late for WORK" He flings himself out of bed into the bathroom and to his surprise he finds some broken glass in the sink. Still dazed and confused I throw on some clothes and we both run towards the living room apologizing for running late for school. Suddenly realizing the puzzled look on our sons face, we knew something was off. As we were preparing to make a quick breakfast, he suggest we go out to eat DINNER!!!! DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED, BUT BASED ON THE EVIDENCE IT WAS SUPER FUN? Word of advice, stick to only one beer if you don't know what reaction it may cause. We went back the REAL next day to buy matching ovila shirts.. And grocery...
ย ย ย Read moreI have gone to this establishment several times and have been pleased. Tonight I left very upset. My boyfriend took me out for my birthday. Rachel K. was our server. My whole purpose in coming to Sierra Nevada was for the pretzel and dessert. The hand made desserts are amazing!! I have worked in kitchens as a cook and pastry chef. The desserts are quality!! Unfortunately, we were never given silverware or even napkins when we asked for them. Instead she brought us wet wipes. She asked the table next to us if they wanted dessert, they declined, so she brought them their check. Then she stopped by about two minutes later. My boyfriend asked if we could have dessert and she said no the kitchen was closed. I was upset because when first received the menu I looked for my birthday dessert and picked it out. I was astonished that two minutes makes a difference to the kitchen of whether the guest can gave dessert or not. She just shrugged and offered us boxes and the check. When trying to package our food we needed a spoon to put away the cheese for the pretzel and we finally got some silverware, just a spoon. We arrived at 8:25 and tried to order dessert at 9:12. They do close at 9, but I don't think that is unreasonable considering the table next to us was offered dessert, we mentioned we already knew what we wanted for dessert at the start of the meal, and we were far from the last customers to leave. I don't think I will be coming here for any other...
ย ย ย Read moreUpdate: Changing this to a one star because they removed their hand made veggie burger with the fake โImpossible Pattyโ crap. Those taste like trash because they are trash. They just give you the option of substituting a beef patty for an Impossible Patty and honestly, itโs beyond lazy to use fake beef patties instead of making their own veggie patty. The original lentil burger and any other patties after that were delicious. And you were always able to substitute those patties on a different burger if you wanted to try something else anyhow. It sucks not being able to get a burger there anymore. Hey Sierra Nevada, believe it or not but some people just donโt like beef OR donโt eat meat for religious reasons and donโt want lazy, crappy tasting patties. And guess what else? You can make a veggie burger and keep the Impossible Burger patties too since some people canโt eat beef for health reasons and do actually enjoy the Impossible Burger patties. Those are frozen anyhow so it doesnโt seem very difficult to do both, youโre just getting lazy with your meal options.
Old review-Absolutely delicious! I got the Elote Salad and my girlfriend got the Sunny Little Thing Banh Mi sandwich and they were both amazing. We also got a side of garlic fries as an appetizer! And as always the drinks were great! Our server was Alexis M. and she went above and beyond to help us enjoy our evening!...
