Spoiler alert in 3... 2... 1... Food was ok. Let us start with the pros: Just a hop, and skip, and a jump from I-5 exit and you are just about to burger nirvana. Access to this restaurant was pretty accessible from several avenues for convenience for a tired and confused traveler is great.
Plenty of parking which they need because at 1030 a.m. the burger palace is buzzing with laughs and excitement from would be patrons.
Drive through reminded me of a small runway due to the length and span wrapping around the building.
Parking lot and surrounding building is well kept and clean. I visited during daytime hours so unsure on lot lighting. I would assume would be more than adequate due to the many lightpoles shared between all the business adjacent and surrounding.
The restaurant is very clean and the staff were very nice. Well dressed in clean white uniforms that will take you back to the days when you were a kid in the 70's at your favorite burger dive.
As this was my very very very very first time I ate at an In-N-Out, I was pleasantly surprised at the no nonsense straight forward basic menu. Burger... Cheeseburger... Sprite... Dr. Pepper... thank you. Too tired to second guess do I want extreme fajita poppers or double grande molten cheesy baco-bit onion rings with my western guacamole zesty Colorado ranch burger. Medium fries please.
All the food is made to order. All fries are dropped as soon as you order. Decent. Did I mention all food is made as you order. Everything is crazy fresh. Not sure if all In-N-Out operate the same way... Nice.
Good job California.
Now the cons: Going to offend some die hard fan boys... burger was just mediocre. Was not magically whisked away to shangri la on the back of a mythical pegasus. Fireworks did not ignite like scorched earth policy. My first bite did not make me wax nostalgia and take me back to that first kiss from Amy DiAngelo behind Rolla-Rama Skate N Putt Putt. Sorry, IMHO I could make the same burger at home. Maybe that is the allure of In-N-Out, taking you back to those childhood summer BBQ's????
All in all, even though the ground did not shake underneath my feet, I would recommend this location to all you hungry travelers up...
Read moreWow! Worst in n out burger I've ever had today! (On 6/3/23) Went around 10:30am, order taker did not return my greeting, I asked for a lap mat and it was wet and crumbled, asked for extra napkins and the window person only gave me 1 even though the ones already in the box were already dirty with sauce. Then the worst part, burger was terrible! Greasy, messy and falling apart! Cheese in a lump on one side, pattys not even on top of each other, too salty right in the middle and the paper was wrapped into the burger! It was supposed to be protein style and there was only a single piece of greasy wilted lettuce on each side! Gross! They also gave me a heavily salted 'pup patty' so pup got no burger! I tried to eat it myself but couldn't because it was soo salty!
Saturday morning crew needs to get it together!! (Last time I came on a Saturday morning the window guy was rude to me)
Not the service or quality in n out is known for!!!
Some other experiences at this location: I was served a chilled, cold and thick hot chocolate that no one caught before giving it out. They have made my order wrong about 5-6 times because no one bothered to repeat the order for confirmation. Often wait for coffee several minutes after getting food because no one brewed any coffee and they've just caught on. Several times had a very hot coffee handed to me in the drive thru with the lid not on, just sitting on top (sometimes the rim of the cup is bent so they lid will not go on at all). They also consistently give out waters that have a little soda mixed in because they don't take a second to let the water rinse the spout before filling up the water.
Ok, rant over, lol. I...
Read moreLook, let's be frank...In-N-Out Burger is just another overhyped burger joint. Are the burgers good? Yes... but having good burgers is only a small part of what makes a franchise great. The simple fact is, they absolutely need to open another restaurant in town. The lines are simply TOO LONG to justify their wait time. While they employ a lot of people, a 2nd franchise would do wonders on the opposite side of town. The fries, while freshly cut, do not make "The Cut", lacking both crispness and color. The burgers are basic and sloppily made... both with their sauce and cheese. FAR BETTER burger joints exist in Chico without having to cut off the driveways of other establishments on the same street. Try Big Chico Creek Burger, Nobby's, even Burger Hut!! Deals even exist at THOSE places that are cheaper and offer more styles and burger toppings. 3 stars... as HIGH as I'll go until something changes. Update... as of 9/23/2022, absolutely NOTHING has changed with this hamburger joint EXCEPT the prices, which have gone up substantially. Is the food still marginal? Of course... and still over-rated. FAR better Hamburgers still...
