Office Depot — Local services in Chico

This enthusiastic review is long overdue. Andrew T. (sales) and Chris G. (store manager) are the best!

We purchased an HP LaserJet Pro M255w (May 2023) from the Chico Office Depot. When we had multiple frustrating issues with installation, we turned to Andrew for help. He listened carefully, then suggested additional troubleshooting steps to take. Andrew was professional, highly knowledgeable and patient. He provided exceptional customer service. We followed Andrew’s suggestions without success. We learned that our model HP printer is known for installation issues and that we would have to deal directly with HP (it’s a long story why we couldn’t just return to Office Depot).

What followed was a long, horrible nightmare with HP. It took days and hours on the phone before they agreed to replace the printer. They replaced our new one with a reconditioned one. We were beyond exasperated. Chris stepped in. Reimbursed us for the HP printer. Andrew recommended a Brother printer (purchased in Aug 2023). It was super easy to install and prints beautifully.

Bought a desk that, after purchasing, was too big to fit in my car. Guys we’re very helpful in helping me get the it into my car by taking the pieces out of the big box and putting them in my car one by one. So that was nice, and appreciated. When I got home and started putting it together that night I discovered I didn’t have the hardware for it. Maybe it got left on the ground. Who knows. Anyway, called at 9:57am the next morning and the girl who answered said she couldn’t help me until they opened. At 10am. By the time our exchange was over it was 9:58am. I mean......really? Really. Really? So I called back 3 minutes later and she was happy to transfer me to the person I needed talk to. Was that so hard? He, the manager, was very helpful and offered to open an unopened desk to give me the hardware from it seeing as I was hoping to tackle this thing today. That was very nice, and greatly appreciated.

In summary, would’ve been 5’s all the way around, but homegirl who wouldn’t help me until 3, then 2, arbitrary minutes had ticked off the clock, forced...

I had some trouble with a couple purchases of an office chair upon assembly. Office Depot was easy when it came to the those returns. This morning I went in and saw the same chair assembled without the flaw. The manufacturer appear to have fixed the earlier problem. Quality control was the manufacturers responsibility but Office Depot had been easy to deal with. The manager Chris went the extra mile today and allowed me to purchase the chair I wanted & adjusted the price to what I had on my emailed receipt from the earlier purchases. Glad to have the chair with the hard to find features I wanted. Thanks, G (FYI the chair MFMC 400 is one of very few "leather" finishes with as the adjustability of a task chair....
