I’ve been to Tios now twice unfortunately I do not have pictures from my first experience. First time I ordered lemon pepper wings, and two pepperoni pizzas. The lemon pepper wings were ok but they became really soggy from this onion/ herb sauce they put on top. it didn’t say it came with this topping. I assumed they were regular lemon pepper wings that would come out seasoned and crispy, but I think without that they would’ve been better. The pizza was really thin, almost no cheese and very little sauce, there were almost no toppings. I think there were two or three tiny pepperoni slices on each slice if that. The second time I ordered another pepperoni pizza and asked for extra pepperoni. They did put more but again barely any cheese and sauce plus they burned the crust. The pizza itself is tasty, but it seems like they are trying to save money on product considering they are so stingy with the portioning. I also ordered, a glass of wine and the pour was extremely small for a $12 glass. Maybe 4oz in there besides the style of the glass they give you has a thick glass bottom which makes it look or appear to have more, but it really didn’t. They do not have specifics up on how much wine oz there is per serving, usually restaurants do a 5oz and a 9oz. I’ve heard other people complain about portioning and how the pizza itself has the bare minimum of what makes a pizza. Hopefully they figure it out because it’s a great location but if this stays the same I don’t see word of mouth spreading in a good way. I will say the atmosphere is great and outdoor seating is really nice.

I want to say off the bat: the staff is excellent. Everyone was very friendly, and they were really hustling: taking orders, getting orders out, checking on customers, keeping the dining room clean. I wasn't a big fan of the pizza or the atmosphere. This is just my opinion, but wood-fired pizza will never hold up to pizza that comes out of a regular ol' pizza oven. But if you're someone who does like that, then maybe this is a spot for you. I will say this, their mozzarella sticks were really good, I just wish there were more of them per order but they're almost the size of a hot dog, breaded in some sort of cornmeal and served with marinara. The problem with the interior was all the hard surfaces made it really loud, and my dad who's very hard of hearing even with hearing aids couldn't hear any of the conversation my family was having at the table. This place just opened so take my opinion with a huge grain of salt, because I'm sure they're still tweaking and fine tuning as they go. Again, I give them credit for a great staff, and I enjoyed the mozzarella sticks we got for an appetizer. Looking more at the menu I want to go back and try a couple of their sandwiches. But as far as pizza goes, I'd just rather get mine from Celestino's, Monstros, or Bodega.

Unique offerings and decent execution, the crust is very tough. Now that I look at the menu I think this was a daily special pizza but I can’t find any information on it. It had a Thai peanut sauce, chicken, cilantro, cheese, pepper and maybe ham. I wasn’t a fan especially with the sliced carrots but they took a risk and I did too and that’s just how it is. It’s super loud inside a lot of people are talking about that, it’s incredibly hard to hear yourself or talk among your group but that’s more of a complaint for the builders. The pistachio cannoli was nice but not great although it was the end of the day. It was pretty stale more of a time on the shelf issue. Then the pistachio they dusted on was super salty, the inner ricotta cheese was nice. I mean they’re not a patisserie or an established location so you can’t be blown away I appreciate that they have options and that they are experimenting and they’re new so they’re still figuring things out I’ll keep coming more than likely to continue to try new things. But I’ll probably just eat outside.

I went with a friend to try the new Tio Pizza place in Meridian Park. It had a great location with ample seating inside and out. The young man at the register was pleasant and gave his full attention. I was thinking is is a great start in trying a new place in Chico, But...... it went down hill from there. I asked for a 1/2 & 1/2 Pizza with pepperoni, sausage onesid and their Margherita on the other. What I got was a mix all pizza together with no cheese except for the little Mozzarella balls melted here and there. The crust was soggy and way to thin to hold what toppings there was. My friend had a beet salad with a gaint Mozzarella ball in the middle. About 1 cup of arugula as salad and small cold slices of beets on the other. She said it was tasty but it was a bit weird since the dressing was warmer than the arugula? Anyway I ate about 1 1/2 slices and decided to leave the rest. Before we left a couple asked how we liked everything, of course we were honest and they appreciated it. At the end the couple mentioned they were happy with their sub sandwiches from Tio'o although a bit pricey. This is just my opinion and single experience trying Tio's Pizza. Everyone's tastes, experience is unique so try it yourselves and please let me know how it went for you. I might try...
