Went there for lunch on 5-10-2024 with a friend. After retiring I moved back to my hometown Chillicothe, Ohio. Carl's always been a great place to eat. Boy oh boy NOT TODAY!!! Waited like what seemed forever for our food. Finally receiving our food our burgers were ice cold!!? W e sent them back. After sending our food back to be redone they came back a second time cold!!! By this time I was so frustrated and just asked for a box just to get out of there. I went up to pay my bill the young man asked me how my food was so I told him. After. I told him my experience he proceeded to go back to the kitchen to let the kitchen staff what I had experienced. About that time a short older gentlemen with black longer hair and beard swing out from the kitchen saying very loudly in front of customers who said their food was cold. I spoke up and said it was me. He proceeded to scold me in front of customers that he checked out food before it left the kitchen and it wasn't cold. I said it was so cold that the cheese wasn't even melted. As he continued to speak loudly stating they don't serve cold food. I told him here let me show you I have the burger here in my box. He grumbled no I don't want to see it The young man that was running the register said he wanted to see it. I opened the box and showed him that it was so cold the cheese wasn't melted. There was a lady that was sitting at the counter that looked at the burger was cold and the cheese wasn't even melted because it was cold. She said yes it's cold. The young man at the register said it doesn't look cold to me. I said here feel it it's cold!!! He declined. Thegentlemen with the black hair and beard was still saying very loudly in front of everyone we don't serve cold food. I asked who that gentlemen was and was told he was the owner. I couldn't believe he was the owner acting like he was. First of all Mr owner don't ever argue with a customer in front of other customers. All you had to do was talk to me like a professional and not like I'm some dog!! There was never an apology you just kept running your mouth not wanting to here that your food you served us was cold 2 times!! You are very unprofessional and rude!!!!! As I was leaving the waitress apologized to me for the way he treated me. I will never ever step foot back in that diner!!! NEVER!!!!! I will be sure to let everybody I know how I was treated and not to support your place of business!!!! You just lost a customer!!! I feel sorry for anybody that works there with that man!! You certainly are not a professional!!! Have...

Took 85 minutes to get diner breakfast for 5 ppl. No staff even said hi for the first 10 min although they walked by us. Once the server got our order, it took another 15 min to get the 5 waters and 2 coffees we ordered. (No refills until we asked for the check.) We got 4 of our meals 45 minutes after that; they’d clearly been sitting out unserved for some time. Cold hard home fries & sausage patties, uncooked bacon. Less than mediocre. The final meal showed up 10 min after that—that is, after everyone else had pretty much finished eating. At least that late meal was hot, but that one positive thing came at the expense of everyone else’s food being cold and unenjoyable. They comped the late meal; they should have comped the whole order. I pitied the other parties who had come in after us and were just sitting there, staring and waiting. If no one addresses you here in the first 5 minutes, I recommend cutting your losses and leaving. It’s not worth the time or money unless you’re real nostalgic about mid-20th-century Chillicothe and/or can’t cook...

First time here. Small and quaint place. Seems like everyone knows everyone else. Very tight parking lot. However there is street parking. We walked in, there was no signage to tell us to seat ourselves (guess everyone knows that rule). However there was a waitress right there who would tell us to sit anywhere. Problem with that was that we had to wait for tables to be cleaned up. We eventually sit in the booth. The waitress takes our food and drink orders and brings the drinks back. We don't get silverware for a while so nothing to stir up the coffee with. Waitress takes a while to come back. We tried to get anybody's attention to no avail. 乁( •_• )ㄏ Food comes. The double cheeseburger is kind of a disappointment as it is more of a White Castle. For about $7 that is just a little bit much. My daughter didn't like the waffle either, said that it was doughy. Now for the service, she never came back to our table until we were done with the meals. We had to go up to the front and find her to get the check. So: with all of that we probably...

Clearly need to update the menu from online. Says breakfast is served all day, clearly only till 12pm on the sign. But the actual menu only has 1/2 of the options as advertised. Even normal basic food is bland and nothing to come back for. It was nearly $9 for a breakfast sandwich with add-ons. Still left hungry Service was slow and the a/c was so high it made our food colder than it already was. Server was covered in tattoos, not a very nice look for a family owned business. Regardless of design shape, it does not look professional and should be covered up. Nobody wants to see your "artwork" 🙄 Tried to give things another chance. Got the so called chicken & waffles. As you can see chicken wing was as burnt and dry as can be. Couldn't even eat it or rip it. Waffle was dry, had to ask for butter twice. Got our food a solid 30 minutes after being the first group there at the time of opening. A/C unit was so cold it made the food taste worse. Wont be returning any time soon

Carl's Diner is a small (vintage looking)diner on Second Street in Chillicothe, OH. Although it has limited seating, the wait (if any)is well worth it! You will not find better quality or flavor at any other local diner, than you will find here ! The Pork Tenderloin sandwich is "to die for!". Any of the items I have ever had, on the menu, were delightful! Trust me, I am a very picky eater! When I say it's good, it's GOOD!🤗
