I saw this place when checking into a local establishment to visit for the weekend. After the experience I had the first night I will never set foot in there. Granted it is Halloween night but they have a DJ there that is playing his music so loud and outside the building that the people in the surrounding establishments are having the walls of their rooms vibrate.(DJ Wildabeast was his name so that should say it all. If you're a business that cannot be courteous to businesses around you then you don't deserve to get people's patronage! The DJ with the very loud base booming & thumping music is to continue until 10:00 tonight, hopefully it will end on time. So much for a relaxing weekend in Chincoteague The music did end around 10:00, by request if the local law enforcement, but they started it back up at 10:30 and had to be shut down again. The very next night they started up again and by quarter after 9 they increased the volume of the music at 9:30 it increased again and by 10:00 it was unbearable & law enforcement had to intervene again. While Chincoteague is a lovely & historic place to visit, this place ruins the peace and being able to sleep at night to enjoy your days and early evenings while visiting. Even speaking to locals who live on the opposite side of the bridge they said the music from this place invades their homes. It is unfathomable that the Chincoteague governing body allows it to continue. Even local law enforcement said they get complaints constantly! (As relayed to me by the non-emergency dispatch person I spoke to). As an added at it it is now almost 30 past midnight and people are still at the bar being loud even though the music is now low and muted & the patrons have left, it's the staff that was partying after closing. This is total disregard and disrespect for the surrounding homes and establishments in which vacationers are trying to sleep at. It is completely disrespectful what's the history of Main Street and the area. area. I am guessing that making a buck off of selling alcohol and partying it up is more important than the community in which this establishment resides. The owner needs to realize this is not his establishment in...
Read moreWe came for lunch and everything was going really well. We decided we were going to get one more drink before paying our tab. The male bartender with longer hair looked at me and asked me what I wanted to drink. I told him and he made my drink. The lady beside me was still deciding but after seeing mine wanted the same thing. The bartender looked at the lady and said “really?!? You couldn’t of told me that while I was making hers” at first we thought he was joking. He continued on until we were both uncomfortable and he made it obvious he wasn’t joking. His eyes were big and his voice was loud. She said she would just take a beer to make it easier. The bartender made her the drink while still making comments about it to himself and the people at the bar. Obviously taken back the lady got her bill and started to walk away. The bartender then yelled as she’s walking away about the tip she left, making her feel humiliated and frustrated. There is no need to treat people like this, if you can’t handle making drinks then stay out from behind the bar. And maybe your tip would’ve been better if you didn’t yell at a paying customer in front of a whole group of people. Your coworker also seemed very taken back by how you were acting due to the look on her face and the way...
Read moreIf your vacationing in town, this is a fun and delicious experience. We rode our bikes over and parked along the side of the fence. The restaurant is located on the water and is set up with picnic tables and small shaded tables all over the sand. The breeze from the water makes it incredibly comfortable. The ground was hard enough for steady walking. You could easily get a wheelchair to one of the first tables if necessary. At the window of the kitchen, there are menus and order forms with pencils. After a quick huddle with our party of 4 adults and 5 kids, we circled our choices and turned them in to the kitchen. From the moment we arrived the kids were running in the sand and playing all the beach games they had set up throughout the property. Table tennis, jenga like blocks, ring hook and corn hole. The food came out reasonably fast and the food was delicious. Jerk chicken on fresh lettuce was juicy. The shrimp po boy was so good and the caesar salad was fresh and crispy. All the other entrees were A+ as well. This spot was a win for both families and the owner gave all of our kids ice pops on the way out (after asking parents permission). The ambiance mixed with the great food with the customer service makes this a...
