My wife an I have visited Chincoteague 4X .But after our 1st it's was instantly our favorite spot. each time we stayed in a different motel. By far our stay at the Hampton was the best stay we've had, not knocking the other places but on those vacations we basically only wanted a room with a bed and a shower. They served a purpose.. the Hampton however was a home away from home. The room was amazing.. we didn't really need two queens but not issue. Our view was Amazing.. think next time we may try going in the next room inward and not on the very end but was an amazing view of the water and sunsets. We were cheated on sunsets the first night or two as storms were possible.. but even that didnt put a damper on our stay.. we wanted a nicer room just in case we were forced to stay inside. and the thought of seeing a storm with the ocean is something i hadnt enjoyed in years.. but it didn't happenđ.The Staff was Amazingly friendly.. the breakfast was the best I've ever had on a vacation.. we made it a point to get there every morning.. enjoyed our talks with Rocky and learning more of the Islands history.. while having breakfast one morning I told my wife.. im gonna go learn that man's name after I heard him talking with an older gentleman. Almost immediately it was like we've known him for years. Now the fresh cookies every evening .. well those were an awesomely terrible tease.. they were made perfectly đ„°.. but as much as I love having said cookies I tried to not take more than one or two..if I had a tall glass of milk and a receptionist that was absent I may have run off with the entire tray.. off to my room to put on some cookie weightđ. But a really nice touch with the fresh cookies. Again it felt like a home.. family. The pool was just sweet.. usually was all ours when we went.. was almost unbelievable that it would be empty when we'd walk in the place.. so was very pleasant..the hot tub/jacuzzi part was really enjoyable as well.. we enjoyed the pool 1st which was at/about 87°.. then after a bit we'd get in the hot tub... which was about 104°.. they recommend 15 min at a time by use of a timer for the bubbles.. which is a nice way of maybe letting guest realize it's nice to take turnsđ.. plus there's possible medical reasoning as well.. again a great time..had the motel offered an evening meal I'm sure there may have been days we wouldn't even leave the building đ . We booked for just over a week.. but ended up leaving a day early as we pretty much achieved everything we wanted to do during our stay between hitting the beach.. visiting nearby towns as a possible relocation effort.. and stopping in for some good eats at local restaurants.. but we had missed our pups that were put up at a local boarding facility and had several other pets to check on and tend to.. plus it gave us another day to relax after our vacation.. I believe we're already thinking about our next visit with the Hampton of Chincoteague for next year and honestly we both can't wait.. oh and as tempting as it may be.. please don't feed the birds... when I went on our balcony eating one they thought it was for them..and the "Mine" scene from "Finding Nemo". instantly popped in my head.. but they did not know I'd fight off a small pack of dogs for...
Read moreWe stayed here on Memorial Day weekend 2025.
This Hampton is a very nice Hampton with a five-star curbside appeal. The landscaping itself, probably should receive the prettiest Hampton Inn in the country award. The marquee said it was the #2 Hampton in the country, but I donât know by what organization. (Front Desk told me later it was a Hampton Corporate rating) We donât always stay at Hampton properties, but we try to most of the time. This has got to be one of the nicest Hamptonâs weâve ever stayed it!
I usually always put in a request in the Hilton app for extra bath towels, but they rarely make it to the room. When we got to the room and looked in the bathroom, the extra bath towels were there. Thatâs another five star shout-out for housekeeping.
The sleeper couch is relatively comfortable for sitting on. Not always the case.
The parking lot is relatively level to the front door, so you can park anywhere in the lot, and not have to push and pull your luggage cart up any significant hills. Just a slight uphill going in. They also have the old style rectangular luggage carts that carry a bunch of stuff.
Room 314 vs room 318. I typically donât publish specific room numbers, but this time I noticed an unusual odor in 314 that did not exist in 318. Your sense of smell quickly adapts and ignores it, but itâs there when you first enter. Probably a humidity thing as is often the case. Room 314 had a hassock you could rest your legs/feet on while chilling on the couch, but room 318 did not. I missed not having that.
Shower was large and very well lighted. No complaints. But, although the shower head pattern choices were easily adjustable and acceptable, the flow rate was pretty low. These kind of flow rates always require me to run the water much longer just to wash and rinse.
Breakfast was a pretty standard Hampton Inn spread, but they actually had both scrambled eggs and those folded omelet-like eggs. The milk was not in a refrigerated cabinet, but in stainless steel serving units sitting, I believe, on ice. Not quite as cold as being refrigerated. And it was a nice view of the waterfront from the breakfast dining area.
No apparent shortage of housekeepers as they seemed to be working feverishly in the hallways all the time. And the rooms were well kept.
We liked it so much, we stayed an additional night. And it was Memorial Day weekend, so I felt we were fortunate they had availability.
As I write this review, it has dawned on me that weâve been on the road 12 days now and I always write notes after each hotel stay, otherwise the hotels all start to blend together in my mind. I also realize, it takes considerable time and effort to do this. I could probably do this for a YouTube living, but I donât. Itâs more like keeping a personal journal of where weâve been and what weâve done, but posting it to the review apps to help other customers. Maybe Hilton would pay me someday as a secret shopper.
Would we stay...
