It was nice enough, but it would have been better if it had more parking, a bathroom and easier fishing from the pier. The pier railings are a bit high for fishing from, with just a few spots with lowered railings for fishing. However, it is nice that there are many places to sit and watch the water, plus the town is just a few steps away so you can go get food to picnic with or just browse the shops while you are in the area.

A nice park right along the waterfront! There are nice pavilions for picnics and a little dock to enjoy the sunset. The oversized LOVE ❤️ chairs are a great spot for a photo opportunity as is the statue of Misty the Chincoteague pony. The park has good parking and is located next to a large part of the downtown commercial area so it is an easy stop and we’ll worth it for pictures.

I did a drive-through in winter at no entry fee charge. It is just a short road, I did see some fenced ponies. I did not exit the car. I would not want to pay the park fee for just the short drive-through. Rather, plan to spend your day on the walking trails, beach, and visitor center to make it worth your while.

Stayed here along the dock with our sailboat, out of a storm. The Harbor Master was so wonderful to accommodate us. The town is an amazing spot on the island. We were even fortunate enough to experience their downtown Halloween parade. Captain Dan's boat tour is also worth an afternoon to go see the island and ponies. Most of all we loved the hospitality of the people of Chincoteague. Thank you for...
