Don’s Daughter — Restaurant in Chincoteague

Came here due to long wait at other restaurants on Saturday night, that's our bad. Because we came in 15 min before closing time, they were unsure if they wanted to seat us. They did let us sit but I actually wish they had just turned us away.

Drinks were nicely priced and delicious. Their steamer broke so we could not order the seafood basket. Most of us got blackened flounder, fish of the day.

The dishes took a long time to come and they missed one of our orders so another extra wait. My plate was the last as I offered to be last but the fish was not cooked through and it would not be considered "blackened". It was maybe steamed with some spice placed on top. It lacked flavor - hot sauce and salt was much needed. The wild rice was undercooked and very hard to chew. I was starving and the kitchen wad likely closed by this time so I just grinned and bared it but it was the most unacceptable food I've had at an establishment. They should have just turned us away or let us order from Don's from across the street.

The water view is very lovely so we had that to enjoy. The crab cake was apparently pretty good so not all of us were unhappy. Maybe it was bad timing but seriously if you are done from a busy day then just close up shop.

Other than the atmosphere, I can't give that great of a review. My sister & I ordered the crab dip. It was extremely dry and looked like it had been cooked, frozen and microwaved. It was honestly the worst I've ever had. We each ordered the steamed shrimp for dinner. The waiter forgot to order my fries.
