To Whom It May Concern,
I’ve had recurring issues at this BJ’s location, ranging from incorrect charges to unsatisfactory hospitality, and unfortunately, my most recent visit was no different.
I’d like to clarify that I don’t intend to make any assumptions or sound discriminatory, but I couldn’t help noticing what felt like a difference in the level of service we received compared to other guests. Our server, Kayla C, was polite but noticeably less engaged with our table. In contrast, we observed her being very warm and energetic with another table nearby, where the guest happened to be a Black woman. Perhaps this is just a coincidence, but the difference in tone and attentiveness was stark and left us feeling uncomfortable.
The service became especially concerning when my son found a hair strand in his boneless wings from the kids’ menu. When we brought it to Kayla’s attention, she responded with something like , “OK, what do you want me to do?”—with no apology or offer to replace the item. The wings were removed from the table, but when the check arrived, we were still charged for them. This felt unacceptable, particularly given that this was supposed to be a celebration for my son’s 13th birthday.
Additionally, there were multiple errors on our bill. When we pointed them out, it seemed as though Kayla was frustrated with us, despite the mistakes originating from her end. Even after one correction, there was still an error that needed to be addressed. Upon returning to the table for the final time, her tone was terse, asking, “Is that all?” in a manner that came off as rude.
In the end, the bill was corrected, but the overall experience was disappointing and far below what I’ve come to expect from a BJ’s restaurant. I’m not writing this to be harsh, but I do hope we do not have Kayla C as our server again. Due to this experience, I do not plan to return to the Chino Hills location anytime soon.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and consider...

I recently visited BJ’s in Chino Hills, and it was, hands down, one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. We arrived during happy hour, but despite being there on time, we were made to wait over 50 minutes for a table. To make matters worse, the restaurant stopped seating people for over 30 minutes, clearly to avoid letting anyone order from the happy hour menu. The excuse they gave was that the kitchen was backed up with food orders, but it felt like a deliberate attempt to push us past happy hour.
When we were finally seated, our server was kind, but that was the only positive aspect of our visit. The food was absolutely terrible. My chicken wasn’t fully cooked or warmed up, and all of our dishes were cold and tasted bad. To top it off, I was upcharged for sweet potato fries, but I didn’t receive the rest of my meal, which included couscous, salad, and pita bread—very odd and frustrating.
But the worst part? We all ended up with food poisoning and diarrhea as early as 30 minutes after the meal. Out of our group, one person even contracted Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease (HFMD), which is extremely concerning. We had two elderly people, a pregnant woman, a toddler, and two adults in our group, all of whom were looking forward to our birthday dinner celebration. I would never have expected a restaurant like BJ’s in Chino Hills to serve food that didn’t meet basic Serve Safe standards.
This experience was not only disappointing but also dangerous. I would strongly advise anyone considering a meal at this location to think twice. We will never return to this BJ’s and hope others...
Read moreI had selected Bjs curbside pick up for my order for convince and to limit COVID exposure also because I would have my kids with me. I arrived to the curbside parking spot at the time they had said my order will be ready and called the phone number on signage as it directs you to. After waiting about 35 min and realizing that everyone at the other slots had came and left and even cars following that had also came and left. I decided to call in for an update. The customer service representative gave an answer of that she had 50 to 60 orders that they were working on. I was understanding and simply just wanted an update on the order. After waiting about over an hour I decided to just get off the car and check in with someone inside . I spoke with a manager after no one could find my order, she was helpful and got me my food. She brought out my food with in 15 min. I then double checked my order to find that many items were missing. To say I was frustrated with the experience was an understatement because only to come home with cold food and taking a bite into my chicken wings I would find blood. I waited a bit to call the store due to my frustration. I asked for the manager and he was well aware of my situation and assured that I would get a call from the store manager the following day. This was Friday and I have yet to get a...
