I am glad to be safely home and alive after the traumatic racial discrimination I endured at this Wendy's location tonight. I went through drive thru to order a meal. One of the items I desired to order was a Homestyle Go Wrap. As I was placing the order, the employee taking my order stated he would be charging me for 2 Homestyle Go Wraps. I automatically believed my order was being heard wrong so I said, "oh no I only want one please." The representative says, "yes ma'am but I have to charge you for two." I ask why, and the representative responded, "that's just how it is here for that item." I proceeded to ask if Grilled or Spicy Go Wrap was charged in this manner. The representative stated, "well no because those are common Go Wraps, so I can charge you just one. But Homestyle must be charged as two because we throw away the other half." I was completely confused and asked to speak with a manager. The representative stated he was the manager. Long story short I ask the representative to provide me with the Corporate office number because I believed this overcharge to customers in order for the store to not have waste was wrong. He then stated to me, "well I can't give you that information because I have the right to refuse services." At this point I was even further confused, so I said, "sir I just want to contact Corporate office and ask about the charge. I still want my order." A lady representative gets on the speaker and yells, "Just pull forward to the second fking window already!" I could not believe the disrespect and rudeness of this woman. I drive to the window and I see the woman who I believe to be the rude employee (young Hispanic woman with braces and dark hair), but she did not approach the window. A man with the name tag, Gambino, approached the window and handed me a receipt with illegible pink writing. I asked, "Excuse me, who was the woman that cussed at me on the speaker? I would like her name." He said, "I can't provide you with that ma'am." As he was stating that, the young woman walks to the window and says, "lock it. I'm on the phone with the police already." Gambino initially looked at her confused, in my opinion, then he said to me, "okay ma'am." The lady again says, "yea she called me a bch and is now sitting in our drive thru refusing to leave." Gambino stated, "oh well the police are coming so just wait I guess." He then locks the window. I in fact wait, in utter disbelief. Within minutes, San Bernardino County Sheriff's deputies arrived. I am truly thankful that all of the three officers that responded were kind and understanding. The event however was so traumatic I was at a loss of words. My car was blocked in by one Sheriff vehicle, and the other two were right next to the drive thru. I remember all I kept saying is, "oh my gosh people die in situations like this." The officers were again extremely kind and understanding. They apologized for the experience and talked with me about how I was feeling and the situation. What I did not explain to them is I am diagnosed with Anxiety and PTSD, so I was in absolute distress. Thankfully the gentleman talked with me for several minutes and ensured I was in a good space before leaving, and listened to all my concerns. The officers even helped direct me to other food establishments in the area as I am a new resident to the area. I will be contacting Corporate office first thing in the morning. I feel like my experience was racial discrimination as I am a Black woman. I was not a threat to anyone, so to be subjected to such a traumatic event is unacceptable. I did fine emotionally when initially speaking with the officers, however I got home and just broke down and cried. Again I'm new to the area, no family or friends here, so to experience a racially motivated encounter like this is so heartbreaking. It is my sincere prayers that Wendy's handles this situation expeditiously and...
Read moreAlmost 15 minutes in the drive thru after ordering my food. Drive thru attendant is too busy to be cordial.....no greeting or anything. Felt so much like I was inconveniencing him. No words spoken as he hands me my food and then turns and walks away. I had to ask if that completes my order and he says yes. I pull out and realize no drinks. Man........is Joe Pesci sooooo right! Fries were cold and soggy to boot and no receipt in my bag so I can have a record to call with.
This shouldn't happen at 845 PM on a Friday night. It won't happen to me again that's for sure. Wendy's, you've lost a...
Read moreIf I could give 0 stars I would. This place is DISGUSTING. Don’t spend your money here! I stopped there to get some food for my Family ( we were in a pinch), when we got home, they have shorted us one meal, the chicken nuggets were overcooked, the bread for the sandwiches was old and the fries were not fresh and bitter (which only means this place haven’t change the oil in the fryer in Gods knows how long). After spending 30 dollars on all the food, getting home and realizing it was one of the WORST meals i ever had, it’s safe to say we felt cheated. It’s a shame a place like this is...
