Panda Express — Restaurant in Christiansburg

It had been several years since I'd visited a Panda Express before this visit, and for some reason, during that time I got the idea in my mind that the value just wasn't there for the price, but... I was wrong. I went overboard on this trip and got three entrees for lunch: the Honey Sesame Chicken, the Kung Pao Chicken, and the Beijing Beef. For those three dishes, a side of noodles, and a fountain drink, I paid around $14 for a LOT of food. Everything was tasty, but the Beijing Beef was not nearly as good as the chicken dishes, especially the Kung Pao, which was terrific, with plenty of flavorful spice, and the chicken was cooked absolutely perfectly. The one real downside of this visit was that there was no unsweet tea available in lobby at the drink station. Only sweet tea from behind the counter (very inconvenient). The atmosphere here is a little sterile in the seating area, and I found the seating configuration a little awkward, but I staked out a satisfactory place and enjoyed my meal, with the lemonade from the Coke dispenser that I settled for. I think they could also benefit from some large window sheers in the lobby. The midday sun was murder if you sat in certain locations. I also subtracted a star from the atmosphere because there was an employee cleaning the seating area close to guests while they were trying to enjoy their lunch. Patrons don't want someone sweeping too close to them or to get a nose full of table disinfectant while...

Super impressed. Went on Labor Day. Hadn’t been in about a year because I found thier food too sweet. Went in and told the staff member I didn’t enjoy sweet food like orange chicken- they guided me through my thoughts about the dishes- I left with a meal I genuinely enjoyed. The staff was friendly and accommodating to me being so fickle. I don’t eat out often and was pleased they have Coke products. Children’s meals are super reasonable and proportional. Kids meals also come with healthy options like apple chips and nice boxes. Great low carb options. I got a double entree and my kids ate off my plate in addition to finishing theirs because they enjoyed the variety of flavors, not out of hunger. Daughter didn’t like the apple chips, but my son of similar age did. I’m not sure there was an alternative or not. My son was happy to have a double serving. Fortune cookies were super positive and cute. All staff was friendly. Staff clocking in as we left was evening friendly. Clean lobby....

I had the most terrible experience with this restaurant this week. I ordered 5 meals. When I got to the drive through window I was informed that one of the items I ordered needed to be cooked. I expressed that I didn’t have time to wait because I had to get my child from school. The window representative ask me what I’d like to do and I said that they could double my other entree instead. They informed me I needed to pay another $1.50. I said that it wasn’t my fault they didn’t have what I ordered and that it wasn’t fair that I’d have to pay extra. The representative didn’t give me my food until the other item was done cooking, making me late to pick up my child. This was not okay. On top of that most of our food was burnt and old, as though it had been sitting for a while. If a customer has to wait on food it should be stated while ordering, not when they have already paid...
