Red Lobster — Restaurant in Christiansburg

My son was dead set on going to Red Lobster for his birthday being I worked for Darden over 10 years thus he grew up on the food!! Which was good as usual! I think the most disappointing part was I drove from Virginia Beach, Va to Christiansburg just to take him to dinner as he is going to Virginia Tech there so we were looking forward to a good time! The hostess was great and it seemed all the other servers but our server Jeff seemed as if he was very irritable and just didn’t care! Not only did we wait for sodas for 38 minutes! He could see I was irritated at this point! And explained he had a stressful day and the table behind us had complained on him! Finally the food came and he placed the tray on the table. Um ok….. . It was to the point I wasn’t even comfortable asking for pina coloda sauce as he was very curt!! Towards the end of course no desserts were offered, my son I know wanted the chocolate wave so I asked him and he said mom I don’t want wait and he seems stressed so we didn’t! And then at check out I paid my bill as did my sister in law and he ran after her as if she didn’t pay and he was proved wrong not only did she pay she tipped. I ended up tipping $16 on a $94 bill and as i handed it to him I said I usually tip no less then 25%good service more but I’m giving you roughly 15%as I know you get taxed on it but this has been the worst service I think I’ve ever had! I’m not sure why maybe this isn’t the field for you! He again apologized. I would of complained or asked for another server but again we drove 5hrs just to see my son for his birthday I didn’t want to completely ruin my mood! This Store is usually good, but Honestly the Food wasn't good this time; though the Customer Service was good with the Waitor! He was nice! But my Favorite Item on menu , the appetizer stuffed Crabmeat and lobster seafood & Cheese baked Mushroom's were not good this time! Didn't taste no Crabmeat or lobster in them! It tasted like just stuffing & cheese melted together with no seafood. All I tasted was red & green bell pepper not good this time!! Usually it's very good with the Crabmeat & lobster. This time it was missing! They must've had a different cook like for real! Get the old cook back please!!! I even ordered the Brussels sprouts and had to pay more for it instead of getting green be a NV s like I usually do because they no longer have broccoli which I love. I ordered Brussels sprouts; I wish I hadn't! It was awful! They were burnt hard and not tendered. Wait or told me he could get them to do them tender. I thought they were going to be BOILED with butter liked I asked but they were fried hard and burnt on the outer leaves of tbe sprouts. I will never order those again. I didn't tell the manager about those because I had already told him about my mushrooms with no Crabmeat or Lobster but only stuffing Red & green bell pepper's in stuffing is all I tasted with mushy cheese in mushrooms. Awful all around. Went there to celebrate my son's birthday. There was only 3 customers the whole time we was there. Our waitress never came by to check on us until she was bringing our tab. Didn't even ask us if we wanted anything else. Never came by to check to see if we needed any more drinks. Dropped of the tab and in less than 5 minutes she came and asked very rudely "can I go ahead and accept the payment" we wasn't even finished with our meal. On line it said to let your server know if you have any allergies. I did. I let her know I was allergic to seafood and her response was very rude. She rolled her eyes at me and wouldn't even accommodate. The food was so dry. My son and partner ordered the same dish and both plates was not fully cooked. The baked potato was so hard in the middle. The lobster tail was so dry when you tried eating it it was like chewing rubber. The grilled shrimp was not fully cooked. The salmon tasted like it was cooked in the microwave. We waited for almost an hour for our food as others who came in way after us was getting their food before us. The waitress served their food before ours and left ours at their table for about 5 minutes before returning and serving us. Even after all that we still left a 20.00 tip on a 125 bill. I can honestly say we will not be going back there. It sad bc my son and partner loves seafood and had been looking forward to it...
