Horrible experience this evening at this Red Robin. My fiancé ordered two orders of clucks and fries and they made a mistake and only made one. So my fiance gave me the order they put in the bag. After biting into one of the chicken tenders I noticed it was cold. I used to work in this place and if we got an order and had extra chicken tenders sitting in the fryer basket the fry cooks would send it out. The food was done in like 3 minutes and chicken tenders take at least 5 minutes to cook. I took the meal back inside to have them fix it while my fiance was waiting on her order that they had forgot. While waiting I'm sitting there watching the cooks (later to find out one of them was the manager) I'm wanting to watch to make sure they didn't do anything to the food. Once the order was ready the cook started staring me down and I asked if he had a problem. We exchanged some words, but I couldn't make out what he was saying, except for meet him out back. We got the food and left the parking lot, only to discover the cook, the manager and about 4-5 other employees hanging around out back. I go to make the right turn and the manager starts shouting at me, so I'm trying to say what I needed to say, he's shouting, and nothing is being accomplished. He said my fiancé only ordered one clucks and fries and I was trying to tell him if that is true, I apologize, but he didn't want to hear it while he seemed to be having a mental breakdown. The cook tried to bait me to get out of the truck and come fight him. Believe me, I was mad enough to do it, but dude I'm not going to get out of my truck, come on Red Robin property and fight you. It would be my word against like 6 Red Robin employees in court. The manager told me to just go! I shouldn't be surprised, he didn't even want to address the mess up inside, which was not a big deal at that point. Now it is a big deal! If these two are people they are hiring nowadays for managers and cooks, I believe none of us should go out to eat. The manager accused me of trying to intimidate his cook, but I was just watching. Yeah, I was a little upset that they messed up the order but like I mentioned it wasn't that big of a deal until after the cook tried to intimidate me looking at me like he was on meth and wanted to kill me. If you go to Red Robin just don't try to watch them prepare your food or else they might want to meet you out back for a fight. I couldn't even eat the damn food. I assume my fiancé gave it to the dog. These two wanted to act like tough guys so if I see them out somewhere and they want to fight well I have no problem...
Read moreUpdate: Lived in a nearby town for 2 years now..3rd time I've visited the Red Robin in Christiansburg. 1 st time great..2nd time great... 3rd time: NOT great at all. The only star I can give..was for the excellent service of my waitress...Im a veteran..when you go online..it says that Red Robin gives a 20% discount to Vets on Veterans Day, Memorial Day, and, July 4th...This location..does not...Not even a normal everyday vet discount...He did say..they "just give away a bunch of burgers on Veterans Day"....That was my first disappointment. Second disappointment was that even though it wasn't busy..my cocktail took WAYYYYYY too long to make and be served... 3rd disappointment..I was hoping to get my endless salad side before my burger..salads always come before entree...but it came on the plate with the burger. 4th disappointment ...the burger..Madlove...was awful...I asked for pink inside..the burger had no pink and very dry...it was supposed to have smashed avocado but it only had a very small amount hastily slapped on one edge side of the burger. It was supposed to be loaded with 3 different cheeses..I saw 1 white cheese..also..Im a single diner..the restaurant was empty.. the hostess was shocked when I said one diner. She actually looked up and said with disbelief.."just one?!?!" Then, I was placed in a teeny tiny booth right next to the open wall to the kitchen and butted up next to the server station. So I could hear all of their conversations(ya gurl, I heard you..lol) and I could see how long an order might sit in the window..with 2 servers standing there..before it gets served to the customer...I can understand if it had been busy..needing bigger tables for the crowd..not enough expeditors..but other than me... There were maybe 7 other tables occupied in the whole restaurant..with atleast 4 servers working.. The cocktail I ordered tasted really good..but the presentation made me think I had gotten the wrong drink..It looked nothing like the picture. But again..it tasted really good. But I bet if it had been made with the same fancy sugar rim and colors shown on the menu, it would have been much better..(the mind of your customer.)
But...I guess..2 great visits out of 3 aint bad...
1st time ever! DELICIOUS! Friendly staff...wonderful deco! Full bar w/ excellent...
Read moreOverall, a great Red Robin compared to others I have been to. This place is always busy during dinner time however.
First thing first, this place is just like any other Red Robin however their food tastes a bit more fresh compared to other Red Robin's I have been to. This place is going to have the same menu as other Red Robin's of course.
Staff can do their job and they're somewhat friendly. They can definitely try smiling a bit more but other than that I have not seen or talk to any rude staff members. One waitress in particular during one of my visits did not enjoy me enjoying the bottomless fries however. I do not get many fries during any batch of new fries. I'm just taking advantage of the "bottomless" fries. This is one of the reasons to go to Red Robin's over other burger places. At the time, I only ordered three rounds of fries and then I stopped asking for more because the waitress gave me a look of disgust. So much for bottomless here!
Ahh I love the environment of Red Robin's. The whole restaurant follows a theme and every item belonging to the restaurant contributes to the theme somehow. This is one of those places where I don't come for just the food but I also come for the experience. It's a great place for me to bring friends and talk about life while eating a great burger.
My main complaint for this place is why you always gotta be busy when I come Red Robin? The most I ever wait for a table at this particular chain restaurant is 15 minutes so that's okay. However when it comes to getting my food that's where the agony is. I say I wait for my food to come to my table longer than a typical wait for restaurants.
Price of course is good for what Red Robin offers. I can be cheap or I can go all out, it just depends on what I want to eat for the time I go there. Red Robin also has a little tablet for me to pay my bill so that's great! No more waiting for that waiter/waitress to come give me my check. But I still have to wait for the waiter/waitress to put my check...
