Denny's Restaurant — Restaurant in Chula Vista

I love Danny's but this time was huge disappointment....we got there the supervisor or manager I believe I saw his name tag said ALEX...he ignored us Jose I believe the name is host he was nice took our name then a table was empty, the supervisor was talking horrible things about a customer very unprofessional the empty table was empty for 7 to 9 minutes he finally went clear the supervisor or manager Alex he only clean table as CDC guide lines he disinfect tables but not the chairs why ??? Our waitress was really nice we clean pur chairs ourself then we notice that the bus boy he was doing excellent job he was cleaning chairs from head to toe.. but why the manager or supervisor Alex Did not fallow cleanliness from CDC...corona virus is dangerous...he also had very very bad attitude...Dennys always has been so great on servixe what's going on with SERVICE??? Specially gr on manager or supervisor...I do think won't go back there...it waas on E street on Chula Vista. In that moment I wanted to take video he ignored us did not clean table because he was busy talking about customer horrible thingsd with host...believe me I know there is rude customers and I understand that...but when you work in customer service you need to be professional please tell manager or supervisor to fallow CDC guide lines it is sad that my own COMMUNITTY restaurant I can't go anymore...I don't feel safe I did write letter to goverment CDC so they can see how dangerous that could be.. thank you a d sorry to give you a low score but managers and supervisors are the example to employees if he does not do it why the employees will....I am sorry...

Went for dinner. Food came out in a timely manner. Server (Lucy) went on break and left only one server (lady with giant eyelashes and mass amounts of tattoos) on the floor for the whole restaurant. We were never offered refills or checked on to see if we needed anything. During this time new customers were waiting extended periods of time to get a drink order and their meals ordered. I observed customers waiting in the lobby to be seated getting frustrated and walking out. Several tables were finished including ours waiting extended periods to get our bill to pay and leave. It almost felt like we were being held hostage waiting to pay for our meal. Customers were being ignored at the register waiting to pay. The only server left on the floor, was running around like a chicken dropping glass coffee cups, spilling soda, and knocking over plastic cups near the counter. From the time we finished our meal, we waited 30 minutes for our bill that never came. We had to go to the counter when our server came back and request to pay so we could leave. The food was just OK, the side of fries I ordered were incinerated instead of golden brown, and service was seriously lacking. Servers seemed like customers were an inconvenience instead of happy to have a job. Makes you wonder why there are so many 5 star reviews so close together. There was nothing 5 star about this place. Was there on May 26 and ordered the endless breakfast. The cheesy scrambled eggs were so good. They were cooked perfectly. The hash browns were also cooked to perfection. The eggs and hash browns are the best I have had at any restaurant in years. The pancakes were very good. I also ordered a side of bacon and that was a waste. There were two pieces and they were pretty skimp. They also tasted like they had been microwaved much earlier than every things else was made.

My friend ordered the veggie omelette and she said it was so good. She had a gluten free English muffin and it was cooked well. Also got the side of fruit and it was fresh and everything tasted great.

All the staff were friend and attentive.

Everything was so good we went back this morning (May 27) and it was a very different experience.

The staff were still good but the food, not so much.

I ordered the Build Your Own breakfast with the scrambled eggs, biscuit, hash browns, and fruit. The fruit (bananas, grapes, and cantaloupe) was SOOOOOOOOO good. The biscuit was good. The scrambled eggs were pretty good. The hash browns were flat nasty. They were so greasy they literally left a grease slick on the plate. They were inedible. I had them switched for the ham and it was ok.

My friend ordered the same thing as the day before and her English muffin was fine. Her hash browns were also greasy but not as bad as the ones I had. She said her omelette was also...
