Stay: 4.29.25 (two nights, king bed, 2nd floor) - The Hotel Milagro (meaning 'miracle' in Spanish) was a pleasant stay. I enjoyed the spaciousness, the quiet facility and adherence to the noise policy by both staff and guests, and how easy it was to walk to dining/shopping options. The water pressure in the shower is very low, but it's low-flow on purpose due to water conservation (San Diego is in a desert, which everyone forgets), and the separated toilet/shower from the vanity is very helpful. The king bed is comfortable, and the additional furniture, table and chairs and bureau were very helpful for long-distance travelers.
The most significant 'issue' is the floor in the room. It was soiled to the touch and noticeably sticky in places. I am not going to say much more, because if I kept my shoes on, I would not have even noticed it. This was was brought to management's attention, and notations to HK Staff were made. The changes were put into place with immediate effect. To that point, the Staff is by far the best part of the stay at The Hotel Milagro. I find Seraj (manager) very informative and honest, as were all the HK Staff I interacted with when coming and going to the room. I asked for extra towels, no problem. I asked for a late check-out, and directions to the local market, no problem. I speak a little conversational Spanish, and I feel the staff appreciated the fact they could inform me of things in their native language. A smile and friendly greeting go a long way to make for an enjoyable stay.
I travel and review a LOT of venues. The Hotel Milagro is not a palace, but it also doesn't claim to be either; It also doesn't charge the rates as such, nor have the pretense of disallowing for simple changes. That's awesome and value worthy to every traveler. 8.5/10 Recommend. Thank you, mate! ...
Read moreIf you're only planning on sleeping in the room and nothing else, then I'd say think about staying here. Our room was being renovated, I think, I hope. The walls were dirty, unevenly coated. The lights were not covered, the wiring and metals visible. The furniture was chipped and in need of refurbishment. The pillows are very small, and our pillow covers had dirty spots on them. The sheets, we were too scared of what we'd find, so we slept over the covers. The shower head didn't work, so we couldn't take a shower. Luckily, we had a cup to pour water on ourselves. There was a wad of hair in the bathroom, on the floor, by the door, it was never cleaned up during our entire stay. The small arm chair that was in the room was covered by a sheet, the arm chair was appalling. The sheets were not changed, we know this because the first day, we accidentally got some of the baby's sunlotion on the cover, when we came back, the pillows were back into position, but the stain was still there, for the entirety of our stay. We had thought ahead and brought the baby's travel bassinet, thank goodness. The AC doesn't circulate in the room. The knobs for the AC won't even turn, they were rusty. The telly was a zenith. It had cable and we were able to watch some channels (that weren't trying to sell us anything). The flooring was nice. The elevator was extremely worrying. Overall, we tried to make the best of our situation, though it would have been nice to have a forewarning, then we could've stayed...

I couldn't afford the price, I must've sounded disappointed, so Azhdeb suggested a website with a deal for that same night...the deal cut the price almost in half!|When I arrived, Azhdeb was at the front desk and he continued to give me the same perfect customer service he had when on the phone with me. I confirmed it was him I spoke with while he checked me in. He even discounted my deposit by 20%!|While I stayed at Hotel Milagro, in the early evening, I found a dog roaming the hallway outside my room. I called the front desk and Azhdeb promptly answered. I told him about the lost dog and he said he'll figure out which guest the dog belongs to by calling all the rooms with a dog to see who might be missing one. I saw him a few times in the next few hours checking rooms of those who didn't answer their room phone, following the dog to see where it went, taking the dog out to the grass to go to the bathroom, etc... I saw Azhdeb later that night and inquired about the lost dog, and Azhdeb successfully reunited the dog with the owner! Well done Azhdeb!|That's going above and beyond my expectations, so I'll be returning to this hotel in the future because of Azhdeb's wonderful customer service, his ability to provide care and taking the situation seriously, all while keeping a friendly smile...
