My family and I attended Black angus's " rum experience ". It certainly was an experience and not a great one. We were seen to our table with no greeting or description of what the night helps for us. We receipted and waited 8 to 10 minutes before someone dropped drinks off and walked away, no explanation of the drink or what was to be expected next. Then someone showed up with one plate of food wow the rest of us at the table sat wondering what was going on. 4 to 5 minutes later someone else brought out The rest of the appetizer. Again no explanation of what we were having or what was to be expected next. A while later drinks were delivered to half the table while the other half waited and with the delivery of the rest of this round of drinks we asked about the entree and how the beef was to be served. We were told all the beef would be done medium, two of us requested medium rare. The entree was served none of the dishes were medium rare, most were well done and one was so well done it had to be sent back. No one likes dry gray meat. The entré that was redone and returned to the table lacked all the components that we're supposed to come on the dish but we greatly feared sending it back again. After period of time another half table of drinks was unceremoniously delivered again with no information. 5 to 7 minutes later dessert showed up with melted ice cream and burnt sugar on bananas. We asked and we're told it was bananas Foster, having had it before many places I can tell you it certainly was not bananas foster. Throughout the meal we watched the service and for the most part was the same for most of the tables other than tables of two, they got their food together and their drinks together. Speaking of drinks this was supposed to be a pairing of drinks and courses. None of the drinks went with the courses and if you want the truth the first drink was underwhelming and could have been soda for all we know. The second drink with the entree was terribly sweet and did not go with a beef dish at all. The third drink was pretty good and I would order it again but being slightly bitter it only enhanced the terrible taste of burnt sugar on the bananas, the ice cream had no chance at helping as it was melted before it came out of the kitchen area. We paid a premium for this " experience ", and we're left very disappointed and still a little bit hungry as the portion sizes were small. Other than the last drink they could throw everything away and start from scratch before they...
Read moreI wanted to share a video, but it’s not possible, only pictures can be submitted. It was our first time at this restaurant, we got a reservation for 6 pm, showed up 20 min till 6, got seated at 6. Waited for a waitres to show up and get our order, took awhile. They did not even offer a water, and it took forever to catch someone to ask for water. By the time we finally got our desert it was 7:40 already, so slow! Our waitress was sweet, she was apologizing for the wait every time she finally showed up, but it was taking forever for her to show up to get our order, it was frustrating! And then we couldn’t get refills for the water & soda, then we caught her & told her we still need to get our desert, she said “I’ll be right with you” & we waited forever for her to come back and get our order. We asked for a simple slice of a cake, already premade, and it literally took her 25-30 min to finally bring it out. People who came in & got seated after us already ate & left, restaurant was almost empty, and they still couldn’t get us served faster… other waiters were just passing by and no one cared that 2 people are sitting at the empty table for a very long time and keep looking at them every time they pass by… and it was my son’s birthday! Bad experience. And when I ordered a cake for him I actually asked for a candle in his cake & said it’s his birthday. So half hour later, after we asked other waiters twice to help us, our waitress finally showed up, said (again) sorry for the wait, put cake in-front of us and left… Don’t they usually sing a happy birthday song? This was so weird and uncomfortable. And when I got tired of waiting for her to get my payment, I went to the front of the restaurant and said I wanted to pay, I can’t wait again,- a manager was there and she said we have to wait for our waitress. I said I don’t want to wait again, we were here way too long already, constantly waiting for everything too long, restaurant is empty already, but we are still here because of constant waiting, not because we wanted. Manager said “it’s steakhouse, that’s why it’s longer”. And I said “please look around, it’s already almost empty here, people who came after us already ate and left.” We felt like they did not want us there, we were never treated like this before. The food by the way was not that great, I wouldn’t come back, I’ll go...
Read moreUnfortunately this was not the most optimal visit I have had to a B.A.; it may have been one of the most displeasing, meal wise, as the waitress (thin lady, dark hair, big smile, appeared to be of Asian descent) was cheerful, full of energy and very welcoming. First and foremost, they were having a very slow night as there were perhaps only five occupied tables. The bread came out first, delicious as usual. Next was the appetizer, the crispy cauliflower, which was lightly panko battered and fried to a nice crisp and coated in a sweet and spicy sauce; if the meal stopped there, we would have a win. After the cauliflower came the main course, split among the table: the ½ lb Steakhouse Bacon Cheeseburger (ordered without the bacon), the Chicken, Avocado & Bacon Sandwich (again no bacon), and the Ribeye steak with a potato and a side of charred brussel sprouts. The chicken sandwich was tasty, each bite allowing the creamy avocado to ooze out the side and add to the flavor profile. The ribeye was cooked well, still juicy, with a hint of salt, it was enjoyed but it could have done with a little more seasoning. The potato was fine, but the brussel sprouts were dry. Last but not least the burger, if some had told me this was a ½ lb pre-cooking sized burger, I would have told them they lie. We tried the the burger with no condiments, and on first bite it tasted a little bitter, and definitely not medium as the ask. We tested with a second bite or cut of the meet, and were met with a crunch, and the taste of charred gristle. In deconstructing, and turning it over, half of the burger was burned to the point of a charcoal crisp along half of the meat. We promptly called over the waitress, who was surprised and very apologetic. The manager removed the burger and discounted the bill about 12%. We left still shocked that not only was this served, it was placed on a plate, alll dolled up with lettuce, tomato, and pickles as if nothing was wrong. I seriously question who was the in the kitchen and why they thought that was a good...
