I have a huge issue with the attitudes at this location. Anna, the large phillipino manager, seemed to be the one orchestrating this place when i last came.. situation? so i called up, like i would anywhere, and gave my order to the hostess (omg dont get me started on that heavy set beez) made an order for pickup.. 2 salmon entrees and a mixed roll plate. At the end of the call, the verification goes like this, okay so besides the salmon and the mixed rolls is there anything else i can get for you? Nope. Sweet... so i showed up in a hurry only to find out they had only put me in for one salmon and the mixed rolls... quick fix right (i was in a huge time bind as i made that apparent on the phone) but the hostess put the blame on me, and didnt even apologize. and then when i brought up the rudeness of her to the manager, anna, gets all sassy and condensending about it. I literally felt like highschoolers were running the place! I worked in restaurants for 8.5 years and i know that i would despise working with these two and because of their employment there i find it easy to believe that the standards of the location are below satisfaction as well. I will not be back. And with as selfish as these girls were i hope this is read and resonates with the real decision makers at this joint. Ive never written a review on here before for any type of business and ive even gotten hair in my food! So thats saying something.. Food here is okay. I love sushi too much for those obese bimbos to ruin that, but ill drive the extra 10 minutes to get it elsewhere. Otherwise, let me know when annas gone. Im sure...
Read moreMy first experience with Sushiya started out nice. It was a weekday, the restaurant was crowded but not packed. We got a table within 3 minutes. Shortly after being seated a server took our order for drinks and promptly left. At this restaurant you browse though a list of sushi and other assorted items and mark off how many you like on a sheet of paper. I found this a bit cheap, as the prices here not inexpensive.
Our order took about 15 minutes to arrive. I was busy on my phone, when one of the people in our party remarked that the sushi seemed a bit off. I looked at what they were talking about and sure enough several of the rolls we're not cut properly. They were uneven and some were not cut all the way through. Other roles were stuck, pressed hard down on the plate. So much that when you picked it up or tried to pick it up, it fell apart. Not what I expected from $15 and $18 rolls.
Finally we never did see our server, only when she brought us our check. We never got drink refills; I had to ask a busboy for napkins. Not quite sure where the breakdown was with here. Perhaps I am expecting too much from a place where the average sushi roll is $12.
I will wait a couple months and try it again. Post an...
Read moreFirst of all there's no way you can call what you're serving yakitori. If you told me that it was microwaved chicken on a stick covered in sauce I would believe you. There was zero charring on the chicken itself and literally the only thing you could taste was the sauce which was drenched on the dry skewers. There was only three and we didn't even finish them. Both sushi rolls that we ordered were poorly rolled and not that remarkable. The gyoza were okay. The service was pretty rough. My wife and I waited 45 minutes to get seated at around 6:00 p.m. on a Saturday. Although the server was able to take our order in a timely fashion we never saw him again. We sat at our table for a good 10 to 15 minutes after having it cleared off waiting for our server to even acknowledge us. Not once were we ever checked on after our initial order was taken. We eventually got up and got the bill from the hostess because they were busy and we knew they needed the table. But for real just take that yakitori of the menu....
