Went again for another try, and it is just pathetic.
The works pizza had very little cheese, like less than 1/4 for the full pizza. I failed to say no mushrooms and they were as much as all other toppings combined.
The pizza crust was legit paper thin, how do they have an option for extra thin crispy crust? Just pathetically this crust, almost no cheese, and just sad.
The Chicken Tequila Fettuccine was very dry, not much sauce at all, and like 4 tiny bites of chicken.
I was asked if I wanted an appetizers, I declined.
I seen others getting bread, and napkins and such. We got waters and lemon slices. No napkins, no bread.
When mustache man came with the food I asked for bread and napkins, he said usually they bring those already.
Again no refills on water, I asked 3x when he was by and lifted the empty glass.
The pasta was to dry.
The pizza was a $20 joke.
The bread and the dipping sauce were good.
For $50 for my son and I, I'd hope to be a little more full. Not worth it. The table was sticky and scratched and pitted up, the bartender/server said they will resurface it sometime.
The artichoke salad was good, but they delivered it with a giant spoon. The provided fork wrapped up is a steak type fork and near impossible to get the greens from the plate to mouth. Just odd.
The pizza was extremely small for $20. My son ate the entire pizza himself and that was after the bread and an appetizer. And he had a late lunch.
It took a good 15 minutes to find someone to order more food from once the pizza had been consumed. So I simply asked for what was quickest as we had already been there quite a while. And ordered spaghetti. It was a few different types of noodles and the sauce was very thin. So maybe the big spoon was early?? Lol
There are not refills on water and we don't drink much else.
The bartended/server wanted to stay and chat eventhough I was in the middle of typing an important email. He was overly friendly, so much so as it seemed simply scripted and awkward. He is probably better suited on the bartender side of the house.
It was not busy at all, I only came here as I had a coupon for a free small plate and don't see going back.
We were given a discount and I am not sure why or what for.
Overall I am sure there are other places that will...
Read moreI recently had the opportunity to dine at California Pizza Kitchen (CPK) at Otay Ranch Town Center, and I was very impressed with the overall experience. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very inviting. Our server, was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. he took the time to explain the different dishes to us and make recommendations. He also made sure that our drinks were always full and that our food was cooked to our liking. We started our meal with the California Pizza Kitchen Classic, which is a large, thin-crust pizza with a variety of toppings. The pizza was cooked perfectly and the toppings were fresh and flavorful. We also had the Chicken Piccata, which was served with a lemon sauce and pasta. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the sauce was light and flavorful. There is a dedicated handicapped parking lot located near the restaurant. The lot is clearly marked and there are plenty of spaces available. The restaurant itself is also handicap accessible, with ramps and accessible restrooms. CPK has a kids menu that offers a variety of kid-friendly dishes. Our kids had the Chicken Fingers and the Grilled Cheese Sandwich, and they both loved their meals. The portions were generous and the food was cooked perfectly. We all of my family had a wonderful experience at California Pizza Kitchen at Otay Ranch Town Center. The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was very inviting. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Absolutely! I would love to come back to CPK again soon. I would recommend it to my friends and family, and I would definitely bring them here. California Pizza Kitchen at Otay Ranch Town Center is a great place to go for a casual meal with...

We had eaten here a few times recently and had better staff and food than our first visit. Ordering 2 meals, and 2 plates of bread we were not as full as we should have been for $45+.
Today we walked in after a movie and was told 20 minutes to be seated. I looked around and there were way more empty tables than full. The bench inside and out were both occupied. I use a cane and my son is disabled and would prefer to sit rather then stand for waiting.
So we walked next door and found excellent pizza, about 2x the weight of here as the crust wasn't paper thin and lots of cheese.... And a lower price and higher quality. I'd had assumed a place with Pizza in it's name would have quality pizza.
So we found our new spot and am much more full with ordering the same items, and no bread as filler.
Best of luck CA Pizza Kitchen. How do you offer a thin crust when your regular crust is already paper thin???
You should really have a regular crust as an option, as your standard crust is already a thin crust.
Ordered no mushrooms as always, they put extra on....
The last 3 visits we did eat in, the staff were wonderful. Our first 2 visits the staff were not decent.
If next door ends up with a wait time we may be back, but unlikely.
The place could use a deep clean, many tables are sticky from the coating not being cleaned properly. Give Stanley...
