While there are many positives, like community, staff and effectiveness of workout ; there are also areas for improvement. The franchise model under a central governing body sometimes limits the incorporation of member feedback into the workout protocols.
Specific points of concern include: Expanding the 2G Class Format: Previously, coaches could adjust to accommodate more than 34 members based on demand, but this flexibility has been restricted, leading to waitlists and limited access during peak hours. This is compounded by New years resolutions and OTF transformaiton challenge (members pays $35 for weight and body compostion analysis during an week period. During the Transformation challenge members are expected to attend 3 classes a week. Equipment Maintenance: With only one regional maintenance person, the upkeep of equipment like rowers and treadmills suffers, affecting usability. Even basics like ensuring cool water from the water machine, which has been dispensing warm water for months, are overlooked. Studio Cleanliness: Despite the staffâs efforts, the cleaning schedule does not keep up with high usage, and a professional cleaning service could improve the situation to perform regular deep cleaning. Member Feedback and Service: Although feedback is collected, it often seems neglected, with little action taken on issues raised by members. A more proactive approach and an additional forum for the leadership team to address and respond to member concerns would be beneficial. Members want to be heard and their concerned acknowledged and addresed.

When I went in to try my first class I didn't have any intention on signing up for a membership that day but after experiencing how welcoming the front desk staff was, how involved and attentive the coaches were, and what a great workout it was - I signed up for an unlimited membership, bought the heart rate monitor, and have never looked back! Orangetheory workouts are challenging, effective, competitive, motivating, and fun. One of my favorite things about OTF is the diversity. You don't have to be young or super fit to do the workouts, and you'll find 20 year olds and 70 year olds next to each other working out and pushing each other based on their fitness level and ability.
Orangetheory Eastlake has become way more than a gym for me, it's truly a community. The staff takes time to get to know each member and connect with them on a personal level. One of the things that stands out to me about the Eastlake studio is how genuinely invested the coaches are in their members. I have visited other studios in California while traveling and the coaches won't even acknowledge you are a new person visiting the studio. We are spoiled with the level of coaches we have at Eastlake. Each one makes it a point to make everyone feel welcome, as well as takes the time to get to know you so they can help you reach your fitness and health goals.
