For the first time ever...I experienced the ABSOLUTE WORSE customer service inside the Rookwood store yesterday. I arrived about 3pm and was attempting to purchase my "Lunch Bag Special" for my son's birthday celebration. My total order came to $19 and I was paying with cash, a $100 bill to be exact. The young lady that was originally waiting on me informed me that "the rule had changed a couple of days ago" and that they were no longer able to accept $100 bills as a form of payment. She then offered to get the Manager to see if there was something that she could do (I did not request to speak w/ a Manager). Typically when I look to a Manager, I look to them to make it better or just work it out...NOT THE CASE WITH KAYLA!!! She appeared from the back as if she did not know anything about what was going on. I explained that I had $115 in cash and was wanting to pay for my order. The $15 was not enough to pay for the entire order and I was informed of the "new rule". Kayla stated that it was NOT actually a new rule and that the employee was new as of a couple of days ago. I asked where the rule was in writing and she stated that it was NOT in writing anywhere because they are not allowed to hang up signs like that. She then directed me to "the liquor store next door or the bank across the parking lot" to get change for my $100 bill. I asked if these establishments were aware that Nothing Bundt Cake customers were being directed there and she said, "I don't know about the liquor store but, the bank should definitely give you change". Her demeanor towards me and tone made me ask her if I was the only one who had complained about this matter? She stated that all of her other customers just "understood the rule and didn't have a problem going to get change." I then left the store and went next door to the liquor store. They did agree to give me change but verbalized that they thought it was odd that a store that had been opened all day could not make their own change...interestingly, it didn't seem as if they were used to a number of customers being directed to them. One of their employees further stated, "It seems as if she just didn't want to take your money!" I then called the Mason Nothing Bundt Cake location and was informed that it was a former rule at their establishment, but they now take$100 bills as a form of payment. Interesting...I returned to the store and notified Kayly of that phone call and she just stated, "Well, this is our policy at this location. I then requested Kayla's direct supervisor's name and was told to reach back out to the Mason location. I made my purchase and was attempting to use my Lunch Bag again to purchase another 4 cupcakes. Now, I'm not new to Nothing Bundt Cakes at all, but this was my first time using my Lunch Bag so I was unaware that you could not use it twice in one visit. Kayla enjoyed informing of this unwritten rule as well in that very nasty demeanor and tone that she took with me initially. At that point, I just decided to return everything and leave the store. Kayla could have took this opportunity to attempt to make it better but she did not do that at all. I will definitely return to Nothing Bundt Cakes but NEVER THE...
Read moreUpdated review: I spoke to the manager on the phone after getting home, and she stated that she will make a new one and after I pushed the issue she agreed to have it delivered to the venue. She stated she was made aware of the cake being given to me with issues. I ended up calling her later in the afternoon to ensure it was delivered and she stated they were having a hard time finding someone to deliver it. She then wanted all of the information again as if she never heard it before. She told me that she put a big tip on the delivery person so it should be there quick. Again I was not feeling confident. It finally arrived at the venue but what a mess this was. I am grateful that she made it right but it was very stressful. The cake was amazing. I am giving them a two star review because of the ridiculousness of the whole situation.
Review one: I picked up my cake for a rehearsal dinner and they had it wrapped in this plastic. The plastic was sticking to the cake and smearing it. Their reply, ya sorry it does that. No offer to fix it, I would have been better to carry the cake out with no wrapping but the damage was done. Thankfully I am putting large flowers in the center so hopefully it will cover the cake mess. Please come up with another wrapping system. This one...
Read moreDon't get me wrong, this place serves an excellent product. It's just the way I was treated at the store on August 1, 2018. I was in the area, I drive for a living so I am all over the city. I dropped my passengers off at mad tree brewery down the street actually 1.1 miles down the street at 6:25 PM. I immediately called the store to see if I could get my sweet tooth fix. They said that they were only open till 630. I came down here anyway to the plaza, to my surprise I saw a customer go in the front door so the door was still open. I immediately parked my van directly in front of the store (illegally), hopped out in my full 3 piece suit, and said "you got time for one more customer" and the blonde lady looked at me and said I'm sorry we're closed. The man that was inside never even purchased anything. I saw him go inside he must've been friends with them or something. That's not a good way to treat loyal customers. I won't be a loyal customer to this particular store anymore. There is one in Mason Ohio it's only a couple more miles away but it'll be worth the drive to me. Would it have hurt you that much, to have one more customer. I Had the money in my hand to pay for the products, and I only wanted 4 small Bundt cakes so it wasn't like it was...
