Nilufer is an amazing Chef/ Baker- the atmosphere and food are something very unique and special- you feel like you are in her kitchen and she is cooking special things up just for you- you have so many options she had a grab and go case of sweet & savory Turkish baked goods- an extensive breakfast and lunch menu of things you have likely never tried unless you have been to Turkey- her authentic Turkish teas and coffees are presented in the traditional Turkish style which makes you feel so special- no where in town can you get a pot of tea with a glass adornments served over a candle heater to keep it the right temp during your entire meal- too perfect. Weekends are busier but they are the best hosts and welcome you here as if they are hosting you in their home- Such a gem to have this special place located on Main Street in Beacon!
Great spot to grab a sweet or savory pastry- their meat or cheese stuffed pastry are legit- highly recommend—if you want a quick breakfast. She has some great lunch items too. She even offers a full Turkish Breakfast if you have more time to enjoy a full...
Read moreFirst of all, the food is tremendous. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
Second, Nilufer is wonderful and I love that she's established this kind of cuisine on Main Street. She cares so much and it shows.
Third, and to the above point, there's a reason why this rating isn't 5 stars. When things get busy, it's noticeable and you can tell Nilufer starts to struggle. We don't want that. Some additional management suggestions: switch to 2 top tables instead of 4 so that you have more party flexibility, reduce the pastry cases from 2 to 1 and completely remove the merchandise display to allow more space for tables, and at the very least just hire a 3rd person to help on peak days or hours like...
Read moreAbsolutely love Turkish everything so was excited this place came to town. Had my kid and nephew wait outside when I popped in for a coffee, as when we walked in, no one was there except 2 women working and 1 was sweeping. “Oh shoot, are you closing?” “No”. Uh, ok. But accurate- open for another hour and a half. So made the kids go outside as they were talking loud and getting dirty looks from one of the women. Ordered the Turkish coffee which she was making fresh right in front of me. Yay. Got handed a little Dixie cup like the ones you use to rinse at the dentist with my coffee. For $7. Ok. Cup was filled like a martini despite clearly this was to go. Had to walk down a step to get out so of course burnt my hand from the boiling water. Great. Made the kids stop and wait for me to drink outside. The bottom 25% was grinds. Ugh I was so looking forward to this but will prob never give it another to as they don’t seem to appreciate even well behaved children and I’m...
