Seriously disappointing experience here. I went in Sunday afternoon around 4pm. It was fairly busy with people outside and at tables. I was first in line at the bar, but no one was behind the bar taking orders. The bar top was filled with tons of empty and half drank dirty glasses waiting to be cleared and washed. I stood there for almost 10 minutes before the beertender appeared. She was very pleasant, but obviously frazzled from trying to keep up. There were no tap lists to describe the available beers, just the chalkboard with the name of the beers on tap...no description of type, ABV, IBUs, etc. I ordered the cream ale. Not sure if that is actually what I got, because the beer I was served was closer to an unfiltered IPA or Pale. I would have asked the beertender, but she disappeared again. It was a decent beer, but not at all what I would expect for a Cream Ale.
I ordered food from the in-house BBQ joint. I waited almost 30 minutes for the food. The fries were cold and the brisket sandwich was luke-warm. I was about halfway done with the sandwich when I discovered a plastic purple magnet in the sandwich. I took my tray back to the young guy running the kitchen and showed him. He told me it was one of the magnets used to hold the order slips above the prep area. He apologized, but said he didn't know the protocol to handle the situation. At that point I was done...frustrated with the whole experience and ready to leave. I've been to over 200 breweries across the country, and this one definitely ranks toward the bottom of the list. Management please take note. Overall, very...
Read moreMy wife and I went here a few days ago, for the second time. I did enjoy their Pumpkin beer in the fall. I liked this beer as well, as you can see in the photo. The bartender was very friendly and answered a lot of our questions. We ordered a combo of ribs and chicken with extra sides. There was a young cook so I already knew to expect easy cooking. Sadly, I was disappointed about the chicken since it didn’t have a lot of flavor. I added a lot of BBQ sauce on it, so it was fine, which I think that’s why they cook it the way they do. The ribs were very overcooked. I asked the bartender and she claimed that’s how it’s cooked. I can’t judge it because everyone cooks ribs differently...but it wasn’t for me. Beers are good, but wasn’t impressed with their BBQ food. I truly love the environment and amount of space to bring friends. I am going back because there is NO cover charge unlike some places to go in that area and there is always a table available. I just wish the food was better. I purchased a shirt because I do like their beers. I will go back, but only for the beers. I hope they will make changes because I really enjoy their environment, their beers and their...
Read moreDefinitely one of the best breweries I have been to, and the fact that it lies close to the Beacon MNR station makes it ideal for my Saturday getaways. Go hiking, grab beer, then go home. Only my opinion, but people visiting for the first time should try Confusion Farmhouse (amazing), Revolution Red Ale, Tooth of Lion, and their pale ale (Eclipse or dry hopped). Their pale ale is amazing; I've not had a better one, either by can or tap. Staff in the taproom are also friendly, hard working, and does their job really fast, especially if they have a line and people waiting. Of course, huge taproom, space to hangout, with the restrooms always being very clean.
To update my review with the IPAs @ 2 Way, after coming here for a while: In the beginning, the IPAs were kinda unique in terms of taste and hoppiness , but if you get use to it you could end up liking it a lot, which I did. In order of my most to least liked IPAs here: X-1 Farmhouse IPA, Climb High PA, Forbidden Fruit Citrus.
For summer times, I love it when 2 Way brews the Tooth of Lion Hefeweizen to enjoy with their Confusion.
For a winter treat, if the owner ever brings it back, definitely try the Reindeer Games...
