It is not very often that I get genuinely impressed by breakfast foods. Like... Lick the plate-Write your mama-Thank Jesus- kind of impressed. I walked into Ann’s pancakes at 9am with my two sons. First Impression: wow this place is busy! Second Impression: what beautiful booths and flooring! We were quickly seated as soon as a table was available, received our drinks promptly, and got our orders sent to the cook ASAP. Food was ready and hot to our table shortly thereafter. Son #1 ordered 3 chocolate chip pancakes. Oh my goodness. What HUGE pancakes. And I’m pretty certain they used an entire bag of chocolate chips just for his order! Perfectly fluffy and completely devoured. Son #2 ordered a cheese omelet and cinnamon toast. Melts, cheesy perfection for the omelet; planning to try the “garbage omelet next time! The cinnamon toast was kissed with just enough cinnamon and a perfectly golden toast. Melted butter on it and oh Lordy!! I ordered my usual breakfast that I order anywhere I go. Corned beef hash EXTRA EXTRA crispy with two eggs over-easy. I put emphasis on EXTRA crispy because that’s how I always order it, and order breakfast joints still send out a mushy pile of bleh. That was not the case at Ann’s!! Crispy crunchy deliciousness with perfectly runny eggs right on top. I couldn’t have made it better myself at home! Overall, I give Ann’s Pancakes an overwhelming 10/10. The staff was friendly, the coffee kept coming, and the restaurant was impeccably clean. We will definitely be eating many more...
Read moreWife, friend and myself went for fish fry. They both got the fish fry and I ordered a seafood platter to include 3 deep fried, butterflied shrimp and deep fried clam strips in addition to the deep fried fish. The meal included 2 sides (macaroni and cheese, slaw, fries, side salad) a roll and associated condiments. Overall, the meals were very tasty! There seemed to be only one small problem and that was with the fried fish. Not sure if it was crowding the fried or if the temp dropped or the time was a bit short or even the batter was not thin enough, but we did find that there were a few uncooked, doughy parts. The fish itself appeared to be cooked, but some thicker parts of the batter, although appearing cooked, were not completed. These were simply peeled off and removed. The fish itself was good and the service was exemplary. In some places, this seems to be an ongoing issue with Friday night fish frys. Prices were what one expected with the fish dinner @ $9.50 and seafood platter @ $11.95. We enjoyed Lisa waiting tables and she checked often for our needs. We would return in the future...
Read moreAnne's Pancakes is a rare find. The food was great, the Service was excellent, especially the server (I believe Lisa was her name). She was awesome, good sense of humor, made sure we were taken care of. My wife and I ordered the steak and eggs, steak cooked to perfection, they gave us steak knives, I think out of habit because the steaks were so tender they almost weren't needed. My nephew ordered the Belgian waffle and what he got was perhaps the largest waffle I'd ever seen. The deepfried home fries are now my favorite home fries. But now we must mention price. The price point for the amount of food you get is excellent, huge breakfasts for very moderate prices. The only negative thing I'd have to say is, it was packed. (Which isn't a bad thing, it's a good indicator of the businesses reputation,) no my negative is a personal one. I sat at the counter, I really don't like sitting at the counter. But the food quality, quantity and speed it arrived was enough to offset that personal dislike. Five stars all the way down Anne's Pancakes. We...
