I heard the next table describe their food as "perfect in concept but..." and that is exactly how I fealt about our meal and experience. We dined here for our anniversary and although it was a Saturday night, it wasn't busy. Three hostesses ignored us as we walked in but then then we when one greeted us they were very friendly. We say at our table for close to 10 minutes before they put it together that we didn't have a server. Our server was super nice and obviously still learning, and overall she did a good job. But also she was unknowledgeable. She took our order and brought us bread before we had cocktails. When I asked about the catch of the day she said Bass (I think) to which I responded hmm I don't know anything about it and she said "well other customers seem to like it". I asked how it was prepared and she responded "there's a plate of pasta and the fish is on top." At that point I just move on and ordered the steak. I thinks he would be an excellent server with some training as she was very pleasant. The calamari appetizer was really good, but I did wish it was on a bed of sauce rather than tossed in it. The bread and oil was excellent. Both of our meals (lamb chops and ribeye) had good flavor combinations and presentation but were executed poorly. The lamb was rare and the steak was med well. The carrots and asparagus were undercooked, both needed salt. Overall, nothing was terrible, but I wouldn't go back.

Halsey’s was truly a great experience. It had great food, a great atmosphere and great service. We got a pizza, the lobster bisque and a salad. The soup was huge and I’d definitely recommend sharing it since it’s so rich, as is characteristic of lobster bisque. It has great flavor, although if you’re expecting a lobster bisque with lobster chunks this won’t have that. The bread and dipping oil was delicious and the oil has several little sections of things: crushed red pepper, garlic and Parmesan. Both of our salads (the Caesar and the Halsey’s salad) were amazing. The Halsey’s was so flavorful with the feta, mandarin oranges and dressing adding a great combo of flavors. The pizza was very good out of their wood fire grill. We also had their Margarita, which was absolutely delicious with all fresh flavors and none of that “mix” taste. If you’re in the area I’d definitely recommend making a stop here. They have a good selection of food for an array of budgets: from pizzas and salads to full dinner entrees (that also looked phenomenal even though we got the lighter meals).

Excellent service by Kristy M Loved the free olive oil garnished with parmesan cheese, red chili flakes and balsamic vinegar served with bread. Enjoyed the entree of sesame salmon teriyaki. Loved the sauteed kale, raw pickled shaved carrots, quinoa and snap peas. Would have preferred less teriyaki sauce; I didn't eat some of the kale because it was doused with sauce. Wished the salmon had been prepared as requested (medium); it was more than well done. Was glad I brought a seat cushion with me, since I don't enjoy sitting on hard, unpadded wooden chairs. Wished we hadn't been seated in the room with the pizza oven. Occasionally, there was some smoke in the room coming from that oven. Thankfully, the smoke didn't last long. Didn't notice any prices on the dessert or dessert drink menu. Decided not to order anything for dessert. I can afford whatever price they were charging but was turned off by the mystery prices. I'm better off without dessert anyway, so I'm glad my not finding prices caused me not to order dessert.

They were out of a lot of items. I ordered the halseys salad that comes with goat cheese- it came out with blue cheese and when I brought it to my servers attention she said it was feta cheese. I asked for a “complicated” soda (ginger ale Shirley temple with a splash of pineapple & lime wedge) and it wasn’t done correctly- which is frustrating because if I ordered a dirty martini straight up bone dry ice on the side with blue cheese stuffed olives it would have been correct. Why did I order a soda that way- because there was no Mocktail menu to order from. The burnt ends presentation could have been better- no garnish just a bowl of meat. The crab cakes were dry and lacked flavor. The French fries were undercooked. I highly regret not just getting a pepperoni pizza. the food was underwhelming, the service could have been better. I couldn’t wait to finish and leave- highly disappointed in all aspects of the meal. The complimentary bread and oil was the best part! Warm, fluffy and lots of flavor. My daughter enjoyed her steak and my husband enjoyed his burger said it was a bit messy but if ever in Geneva again I won’t be returning to Halseys. The hostess was the BEST part she had great energy and was very kind and helpful. I really liked her and appreciate her going above and beyond I hope she...

1st time that we had dinner in Halsey's. I want to share our TRUE EXPERIENCE!! The dishes we ordered are TERRIBLE and it could be the WORST dinner I have ever had, based on my memory. CALAMARI---cold, not crispy, the red sauce made it worse; Definitely not fresh cooked!! Look like leftover!! PORK BELLY Burnt Ends-- cold, very chewy, too much char, not tasty at all!! Look like leftover!! THE PIZZA--claimed as "wood fired", All vegetables including Mushroom tasted like raw uncooked (we did not order the salad), and the dough was not crispy at all. It felt like cooked in the " wood fired" microwave for inadequate time!! Garlic butter SCALLOPS---OMG, you could even both smell and taste like long-term stored, non-fresh, and salty as hell!!! COCKTAIL---I was glad that I got rid of it since they ran out of some ingredient. BUT they still charged you in the receipt when I checked out!! SO Be Careful!!! My final note, it seems that the kitchen, prep and cooks have NO culinary experience, the consistency of the meals coming from the kitchen are poor. Recommendation would be to hire a head chef to get the kitchen and menu proper...
