Cool brewery in the Finger Lakes. This brewery/ restaurant was converted from a movie theater. Enough of the structure was left intact so that you can see the details.
We stumbled upon this place because we had our pup and we needed an outdoor seat for lunch. Twisted rail was the only place around with an open patio so it was the winner. This is def a great place to grab a drink in the summer but things on our visit seemed a little off that day. I went in and tried to order but there was a huge line. There was an open register but the woman working it was having a very long and personal conversation with a friend. She wasn’t acknowledging any customers or trying to help her coworkers so it was a little awkward. I was finally able to order and we got a beeper for when our food was ready. Upon sitting down with our drinks we realized the tables were filthy. It took awhile to get someone to get us something to clean it off. We had to wait quite awhile for food which was disappointing because the menu was pretty standard bar food and we were starving. Our food finally came and it was just ok, kind of disappointing. I had the portabella burger and I was grateful they had gluten free bread. It was a generous portion but there was so much balsamic vinagarette on the mushroom that it started to turn my stomach. I was sad because I had been craving this and otherwise it was pretty good. The sweet potato fries saved the meal though and were crispy and delish! My significant other had the big hook chicken sandwich. He said it was fine. I think we came on an off day. We will try again sometime when we are back...
Read moreWe were super excited about trying this place and we super disappointed with our experience. I will say the atmosphere was a fun and unique spot, and the Twisted burger was well done and delicious, everything else we had was disappointing. We ordered a side of dies (upgrading from the chips that are offered as the side) and received a dismally small amount of over fried French fries. Our order of medium wings came out with no sauce. NO SAUCE. So we went up and asked about it but were told they had sauce on them. Not o my were we told that but then the person just turned away from us. So I tried one and repeated that there was no sauce. It was literally chicken with no flavor. We again went up and asked about it and were handed a cup of franks red hot to help flavor the wings. No offer to season them. No offer to get a new batch ready. Worst part…when you order at the bar you have to put your tip on it. We ordered at the bar. Had to go up to get our own food as if it were a fast food restaurant. Got terrible service when we did have a problem. I’m giving two stars because of the burger and the atmosphere but that’s super...
Read moreToday we went on a wine/beer tour for my 40th birthday….upon arrival we were greeted by a man with a bearded who was very nasty and said “you need to leave because you didn’t have a reservation….no just kidding”. This man along with the other bartender then proceeded to allow our group of 25 to spend money on drinks, food, and tip 30% as we all normally do. After 25 minutes, and all of our tabs being paid this man at the top of his lungs started to scream at us to be quiet. Yes a group of 25 is probably loud just on sure size and having a few cocktails, however his approach was not only embarrassing but EXTREMELY rude. We were never warned or asked to “please quiet down”, just scolded like we were children at the top of his lungs. I will NEVER purchase another product from this company that employs and allows such behavior, and I promise to at all costs let people know how this specific location and man handle customers. so sad because this was definitely one of my favorite locations to try new beer at. Please avoid...
