Linguini and claim sauce. Amalfi's does the dish justice. We're not talking dinner. We're talking lunch hour. Amalfi's must not be over looked when it cones to their popular dinner dishes being reworked into the lunch menu, wow, tasty.Two weeks I waited as I had been dieting. Finally, the day arrived. I walked in, the server came with menu. I responded by saying, I know what I want. Well, the server responded in kind by delivering my meal just like I recalled it. Except, one important detail. The dish portion was larger than I remember, not a bad thing. But, it was full of water and the pasta was more than el dente, it was, I don't know what. The bread was barely toasted and tasted disappointing. I called the server to sound the alarm. An imposter had infilterated my dish. My server said, no worries, I gotcha. Well, he did. He returned with the best bread and my delicious linguini and claim sauce. There was the claims and the taste that I remember, all for the best price ever $8 plus. Yes! Come to Amalfi in Glen Cove. Try out the lunch menu, chicken parm, well it's good. Best choices to try. Amalfi, has room for group parties. Bathroom large and clean. They offer pizza, verdict out on that one. We've eaten in, taken out, and had delivery. Let me first mention that there are some standouts. They make a great focaccia bread you can take out, delicious little rolls of flavor. My wife claims their cheese calzone is her favorite, and although there are many competitors in the neighborhood, her preference is often responsible for our eating here. They also serve a great pita-like bread at the table when dining in the restaurant. In all of our experience, we've always been happy with pizza, plain or Sicilian, with or without toppings. We've also been happy with Grandma and other specialty pizzas. We've been happy with all the pasta dishes and entrees we've gotten, and also with calamari and wings. Our only experience that was less than pleasing was the meat calzone. Ham was listed as an ingredient along with other meat. Everything was fine, but the ham wasn't prosciutto, ham Cappy, or any Italian style cold cut. It wasn't even deli meat. It was smoked ham seemingly chunked from a shank or butt, like a spiral ham. We catered our rehearsal dinner from Amalfi, as we love the pizza and pastas, and thought it was a great opportunity for family and friends visiting from other parts of the country to have amazing New York style pizza. Michael, who owns Amalfi, was incredibly easy to work with and accommodating - getting back to me right away with answers to my questions and taking care of the large order. We had it delivered and everything went smoothly and arrived right on time. The food we ordered was delicious and everyone raved about it! From the catering menu we ordered the house salad, penne primavera and tortellini with pesto, which was all a huge hit! We also ordered a variety of pizzas - cheese, pepperoni and pepper and onion - and they were able to cut them into half slices, so there were 16 vs. 8, which was great!
